How long did you date before enagaged?

I'm pretty sure I hold the longest time dating. We dated 13 years and 5 days before he finally proposed! We will be dating 14 years before we get married!!!

Close. 13 years and 2 months 4 days. We dated before becoming engaged. It'll be 2 months short of our 15 year mark when we have our wedding.

We got engage after 7 years together, and have been dating since high school so upon 2011 when we get married we will have been together for 10 years!

I know I hold the record. 19 years!! We met when I was 16 and he was 15. We've had two seperate long distance relationships. 4 years of college and another 3 years when I moved to the West Coast. No kids but its spooks me knowing we could have been working on grandkids by now!

On our 3 year anniversary Sean's Grandpa passed away. Neither of us wanted to get married ever. We were living together for 2 years and considered ourselves committed which was as good as married. After that though we decided we needed a different anniversary date so that's when we started talking about marriage. We just had our 4 year anniversary last month and for my 30th birthday(they are a week apart) I got my ring. We'll have been together 5 years when we get married.

 

I was actually surprised at how many brides on here that had been with their FHs for so long before they decided to get married. I love that there is still romance in these relationships after so many years. That is what makes a good marriage!

Wow!! I think EVERYONE has me beat, no doubt. But when it's right it's right! We met 3 1/2 years ago - professionally/business only (Sold him his house 2 years ago- well OUR house! LOL!) We didn't really keep in touch, and were reconnected randomly. But from the reconnect to engagement, 5 months!! It has been complete BLISS!! I am one Happy Happy girl!!!

Met through a mutual friend in 1997, started "officially" dating in 1998, moved in together in 2004, getting married in 2010. So it will be 11 years 7 months 19 days 18 hours by the time our 08/20/2010 wedding rolls around - but hey I am not watching the clock...no not me...LOL

We had been together for 3.5 years when he proposed. We have been engaged for 1 year and month on our wedding day so when we get married we will be together for 4.5 years. CRazy how time flies!
