How long did you date before enagaged?

We were best friends for 4 years before we started dating. I moved in 4 months into the relationship. We've been together just over 2 years and will be married just under the 4 year mark.

We got engaged on our 3 year anniversary. When we get married it will be 4 & 1/2 years.

We knew (and dated) for about a year and two or three months before we got engaged. We weren't really on the ball with wedding planning though - so we'll have been engaged for 2 and a half years before our wedding rolls around!

We dated for 7.5 years before he proposed. By the time we get married it will be 9 years together!

We where dateing 8 MONTHS before we got engaged.... By the wedding we will have been together for a year and 5 months

I'm feeling like we jumped the gun compared to everyone else...FI and I were dating for just over a year when he popped the question. AND, most of the time we were dating he was in Germany...so technically we were only "together" for 3 months...We started dating in November of 2005, he left in February of 2006 (for a year and a half!), and he proposed in February of 2007. We will have been engaged for 2 1/2 years when we get married. But we have been living together for a year and a half now, so sometimes it feels like we're already married...

We dated 3 years and then the engagement and moving in together happened near simultaneously. When we're married in May it will be 4 years and 3 months. It somehow seems like it has both been a very short amount and very long amount of time!

I can beat you Heidi...we got engaged one month after our first date. We will be together about 18 months when we get married next year. My only caveat is that we have actually known each other since high school and reconnected with each other on classmates.com 21 years later. It was truly one of those whirlwind romances where we knew right away we would be together forever things!
