Alternative to the traditional Reception

Recommended Posts

So we are a couple on a budget! And while my dreams would be to do a formal "ta-do" at the resort it just doesn't seem possible with 40+ guest coming and having to pay for extra food, sound equipment etc. So I am now looking into a Mayan Riviera resort where we can get the "free wedding" and then having a recepion on a catamaran. I found a website online and emailed the guy and received a prompt email answering my questions. I need to do a bit more research to make sure they are safe and reputable but I thought I'd pass along the email with their package info and their website.

Hi Meagan,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding (you've picked a beautiful location).

As you may have heard, wedding receptions are a specialty of ours, so we know what it takes to guarantee a special day.

The base price for a four-hour charter of up to 50 people is $1200. The tour includes snorkeling and swimming at a secluded inlet in the warm Caribbean. We offer round-trip transportation to and from the Barcelo Maya at $10 per person. (Our marina is about 20 minutes south of the resort.) In addition, you can take your pick from our food and beverage options. Our sandwich/snack menu generally features baguette rolls, guacamole, tortilla chips, and Mexican salsa. However, we're always ready to accommodate the special wishes of our guests. (The "open bar, sandwiches, and snacks" option is priced at $14 per person, the "open bar only" option at $10 per person, and the "sandwiches and snacks only" option at $6 per person.)

With a capacity of 50 guests, our 46-foot catamaran is a mid-size alternative to the huge party boats that ply the waters of the Mexican Caribbean.

To learn more and to reserve online, please visit Reserve Your Mayan Riviera Tour Online with Paradise Catamarans . (We also have a morning departure you can access at Reserve Your Mayan Riviera Tour Online with Paradise Catamarans .)

Although we've assigned default start times for our charter tours, we'd be happy to adjust the departure to fit your schedule. Of course, we'd also be happy to answer any further questions.

Since we're a one-boat operation, you probably shouldn't wait too long to book. We collect a 30 percent deposit through our secure online booking system at the time you make your reservation. You can cancel with a full refund up to seven days before your tour date. (You'll also receive a full refund if weather spoils your charter.) We pretty much assume that guest lists will change. If you can get us a final head count at least three days before your wedding day, we can adjust with no problem.

I hope the wedding planning goes smoothly.

Best,

Mark
