Newbie Mackinac Island Bride

How sad is it that I have lived in MI for almost my entire life and I've never been to Mackinac Island?

Mackinac Island is located in Northern Michigan. There are no cars allowed on the island. Horse and buggies and bikes only. It's a small island known for the Grand Hotel where the movie "Somewhere in Time" was filmed.

 

I have not been to the island but my fiance is from Michigan and its a tradition in his family. We will be married in St. Anne's church.

 

I would post pics of the island but I'm still trying to fiqure out how to get around on this site.

I know what you mean about not getting to the island and living there all your life. I'm from St. Louis and I've never been up in the Arch.

Welcome and happy planning. There was a "Whose wedding is it Anyway" episode that featured Mackinaw Island. It looks like a great place for a destination Wedding!

I'm sooo addicted. It's the only one fiance would watch...because it was Mackinac. There is a NEW episode tonight. I already set the dvr.
