S2BLennon
So bummed, there is one place near me that does it, but you have to be a full gym member. Fat chance! O well. Maybe I will buy the DVD's
BachataBride
Ok...I know this is an old thread, but I didn't want to start a new one unnecessarily!! Anyway whoever is considering Zumba class all I have to say to you is DO IT!!! I just got back from my first class & all I can say is WOW!!! After the first 5 mins I was sweating like crazy!!! But it was soooo much fun! My first thought after leaving was to call my mom (my BF!) and tell her all about it. Then my second thought was to get online as soon as possible & tell all my BDW girls about this amazing, fun way to exercise!!! I can't comment on how much you lose as I've just started, but from being in one class I can say that you must lose a bunch with all that booty shaking!! And no, you don't have to be a Shakira or Beyonce to join this class...most everyone is just like you...absolutely clueless!!! But the main thing is have fun & just fake it & shake it!! I can't wait until Monday night class again...and I just got back from this one!! Luckily they offer a Thursday evening class, so I might have to go twice a week a few times!!! Birdie07
So funny. The nanny that replaced me when I moved is an instructor and was telling me about this. I did a little research but I have no rhythm at all. I like my calm yoga. haha. Maybe if I had the dvd and could do it at home.
~Debra~
One of my coworkers was just asking me a couple weeks ago if I had ever heard of this. They offer a class here I think a couple days a week and we are going to take. I'm trying to lose about 20 pounds this sounds like it would be perfect for me! Nitnylyin1
I have a .....I am a Zumba addict. I can't help it. I have been doing it for about 6 months now, and lucky for me the gym I go to has now increased classes to 3 times a week.....yey! I was hitting a plateau with my wt loss but this really jumpstarted it. I highly recommmend it, if you love to dance then it's a bonus....cardio workout and shaking your booty!!! Jen_S
I have been wanting to take this but the times my gym offers it does not work for me sounds like I will have to move some things around to give it a try.
saraece
I love Zumba! It totally gets you in the mood to party in the Carribean!! If anyone is worried about how they dance this is the class for you. it teaches you teh merengue, cha cha ... and more. Even beginners can master this easily and look good while doing it! BillysBride
Thought I'd resurrect this thread to see if anyone is still doing classes or the dvd's? I just got the dvd's today and will start tomorrow. The only classes in my area don't work with our schedule, so I thought I'd try the dvd's out and see how I felt. Now that I'm two weeks post-op, I can start doing some moderate exercising. I really want to start now since my goal is to tone up and firm and I'd like time to do that without feeling the pressure. I've got a ways to go considering I was restricted from any kind of cardio this past two years due to my health (heart palpitations associated with hyperthyroidism). Now, my metabolism comes from one little pill each day and I want to do all I can to support it. I liked circuit training, but with four toddlers going to the gym isn't all that convenient either. I love to get my groove on and dance though, so I figured what better than learning something new?! Anyway, anyone tried 'em and liked 'em? Classes? Oh, for anyone interested in the dvd's, I got the full set, brand new still in the shrink wrapped box set for $25 w. free shipping via an Ebay store. I'd be happy to share the info with anyone interested! (so sayeth the Ebay queen o'cheap lol) There are 4 dvd's in the set, starting with Beginners, then Abs, Thighs and Buns (or something like that), Advanced then Power. I'll update in a few days and give my thoughts! I'm going to shoot for doing the workout at least 3 days a week.
BachataBride
OMG Savannah you're going to LOVE IT!!! TBH I've been slacking off on my Zumba classes since we got back from the wedding (I actually only went once!). I still have 9 classes left that I've already paid for - I guess the motivation (ie, having a beach ready body!) is just not there right now!! Let me know how you like the DVDs - I thought about getting them too so I wouldn't have to go to the classes ($70 for 10), but I do kind of like getting out of the house - and the classes are fun. Can you send me the link that you got them from? I still might look into it! Good Luck & have fun!!!
