the cds were pretty easy- just a little tedious.

i took 2 4 inch pieces of raffia and glued on to the outside front edge and one on the outside back edge. i didn't wrap all the way around the cd because i was worried you would see the bump of the ribbon underneath the stripe.

then i glued the green paper over the raffia.

for the cd labels i just used the memorex kit from target. that was definately the easiest part.

it was simple, but in the beginning things were not coming out right.

so here's my tips:

-use a thinner cardstock. i used an 80lb stock for the green stripe and it worked out fine in the end but i think a thinner paper would have been more manageable. i did really like this green paper though because it had a texture to it that i couldn't get in thinner paper.

-use crazy glue. i tried 3 different glues; rubber cement, crazy glue and a glue stick. the crazy glue def worked the best. i think it's because the cd cases are coated and therefore not really porous enough to soak up the rubber cement or glue stick so the green paper kept sliding around.

-use a paper cutter. they make things a million times easier. i have a fiskers and it only cost $20. def worth it if you don't have one.

i attached my word doc that i used for the green stripe. i print a bunch of testers before i printed on the good paper because i wanted to make sure everything was centered on both sides. this is the final version so it should work out for you.

also, i forgot to take a pic but the back of the cds have the quote "love is friendship set to music"

let me know if you have any questions smile78.gif

ok, so the ring is really nice. for $99 you really cant beat it. its a different quality of gold than my engagement ring though - its only 10K gold. my E-ring is in need of a rhodium dip for sure. i think once my e-ring gets redipped, perhaps the color gold will match 100%. but right now i can tell my e-ring is slightly yellow compared to the wedding band. also, the pave diamonds in the band are smaller than the ones on the band of my e-ring. the wedding band has shared beed prongs, but they are different than the shared beed prongs on my e-ring. the ones on my e-ring are much flatter. also, the diamonds on the wedding band do not go all the way around, which I thought they did - they only go about 40% across the top of the band. i like the ring a lot. its very nice for $99, just not exactly what i was expecting. abbie i would tell you to get two. the band is about 2 mm wide, just like my e-ring.

also, anybody have recommendations for corset bras? im about to start my search for that and am totally dreading it.
Maura, try Victoria's Secret for bras. I initially wanted a corset and ended up with a va-va-voom Wonderbra. LOL. It's great and was half the price. BTW, love that ring!

Katrina, I loooooooove your invites! So pretty! That pearly paper is awesome!!!

So FI and I have stopped bickering about dumb things, which is great, we are but you guys are not gonna believe that the ding dong has misplaced his WEDDING BAND! AHH!! So he is contemplating getting a new one (we have searched high and low for his... he claims to have put it 50 diff places) and/or is going to read over the insurance policy he got on it to see if it covers lost rings. I know know know it's somewhere in our house. Has to be. He had it the morning that we flew to Punta Cana 2.5 weeks ago.

My sister is throwing me a bridal shower and has told me to register for stuff but I know nothiing about that. Any pointers, guys?

And I finally got my shoes for my dress. I love them and love that they match the colors of our wedding: red/gold. Thye also have these fun dangly things on them! :)

We are getting close, ladies! AHHHH! I want to shout with joy!

ok, forgot i ordered the parasols from luna bazaar, wedding sand from moonglow candles, and centerpiece and ceremony stuff from oriental trading.

(aqua glass beads, sugar starfish, sand dollars, cute little bride/groom looking organza bags for the rings, grass mat aisle runners, um, i think something else not sure what!)

and i found these great flat turquoise glass rock thingies in bags for $4.99 at target, i bought 2 bags, for using in the centerpieces. near the candle section.

ps, doug is on overstock.com right now trying to get his paypal to work, it keep trying to send items to his OLD address for some reason. anyways, he is buying 2 of the rings! YAY!

oh edit he just bought them and now he is grumpy over having to spend a chunk of money. i absolutely HATE DESPISE HATE (opposite of love heart love hehe) when he gets stressed about money things. especially when it's money things that he knew he needed to spend and had no choice about it, and was given a killer deal on top of it all. why the heck are guys like that?? ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH! makes me remember that feeling over my wedding bands, instead of a loving happy feeling. nice. thanks doug.

ok so here is why my stepmom is really awesome:

our civil ceremony has turned into a 10-person affair when all we really wanted in the first place was parents only (and originally...just us and the officiant but ended up having to invite parents, now its parents, sibs and a few close friends of FI's). we were struggling with the idea of what to do because we didnt want to feed 10 people so we were only going to do cake and champagne. we are running out of money fast with how quick the wedding is coming up and extra expenses just arent feasible at this point, we are actually trying to cut things from our budget so we dont worry about spending too much on our honeymoon and because we had other unexpected expenses pop up. so i was talking to my stepmom yesterday afternoon and she had a brilliant suggestion....

just do a few hors d'oeuvres (like cheese and crackers, a dip or two and a veggie tray), cake & champagne, have the other guests leave and then.... she said she had a $300 gift certificate to this brazilian steakhouse that she got through a business contact as a gift, and said she would be happy to use it and that she and my dad would pay for the rest. the business contact told her when she was ready to use the gift card and make the reservations to let him do it (dont want to say who he is, but is a high-powered celebrity status-type person in chicago) and that we'd get "a more private experience and service like you are celebrities" if he makes the reservations. i am so thrilled right now that i dont have to worry about looking cheap (or my parents looking cheap, because no doubt they are usually cheap; i love them but its true...) in front of my inlaws. you all know how they are kind of high society, so... i worry about pleasing them and having everything be classy enough. i think for sure now they will be impressed!
