We are getting married at 11:00 in the morning! We decided on this, pretty much because of price. Our WC in San Diego told me that there is about a $10k difference in a luncheon reception and a dinner reception. So our reception will go until 3:30...then people will take a break, go back to the hotel, take a nap, whatever...then we will all meet back up around 7 for dinner/apps and drinks! Can't wait!

3 pm is perfect! I went as far as to even change my date, just to get that 3pm slot. my ceremony is at 3pm, cocktail hour at 4pm and recep at 5pm (just in time for sunset) It's important to have a daytime ceremony for your pictures. My friend had a 5pm ceremony last year in punta cana and to her disapointment her pictures came out dark! so the earlier the better!!! :)

We are supposed to be getting married at 1! seemed like a good idea at the time lol. Reception after then people can do what they want for the rest of the day. I didn't want to take over someone's holiday so thought short and sweet. They've spent a lot of cash to come and the least I can do is keep it to a couple of hours lol i may change it when i get there. I'm getting married in black, Im blonde and burn lmao smile159.gif

We've got a 2PM ceremony...our logic is (this is assuming we do our reception at the resort and not on a dinner boat we are considering)....2-3 or 4 ceremony/pics hang out at the bar...4-5 cocktail reception...5-9 or 10 reception & dancing and then we can head to the disco at the resort to dance.

If we do the reception on the dinner boat it would be 2PM ceremony...then pics/drinks till 4...cocktail reception at the resort till around 5 and then head to dinner for 6...dinner/drinking/dancing till 10 and back to the resort where we can continue at the disco :)

We're getting married in January

I think sunset is more around 6:15, righthuh.gif

I am now a little paranoid that my pictures will not come out. Does Cancun follow daylight savings time?? because I am on the same time zone and the sun does not set till closer to 7:30 during summer..completely dark at 8.

Also, I noticed you said you had to change your date to get the 3pm slot. I was under the impression that dreams cancun only does 1 wedding per dayhuh.gif I liked this idea and am real dissapointed if this is the case.

Dreams all do multiple weddings per day if booked. Some days only one person books some days they do two or three weddings.
