Poll: Did you have a legal or symbolic ceremony in Cabo?

Recommended Posts

our ceremony in cabo will be our catholic ceremony with the church, so it will be legally catholic, but we are doing a legal civil ceremony in the US before we go. we have no need to be legally married in mexico since we have to get legally married in the US first for immigration purposes for my FI to get his green card.

Legal in Mexico...I don't mind blood and I thought it was kinda cool to have it done in spanish.

Mainly though I wouldn't have been able to keep a secret and I would have felt bad making out guests go all the way down there if it wasn't the real deal. Not that this is the worst thing ever...but for guests, I know alot of them would fuss if they knew they could have just watched us get married locally. Everyone has different types of guests though...

I agree...that is exactly why I am also having the legal ceremony done in Mexico. Plus I wanted only one real wedding date.

I am way scared of the blood test and bruise easily. So we are getting married in the U.S. the day before we go down (shhh...don't tell the guests) and my father is going to do the ceremony for us. It won't be legal but we really care more about the commitment aspect of it anyway. To us the legal part is just a piece of paper.
