That was my thought first too. They get like a white chalky layer on them.
I probably wouldn't be able to handle having bags of M&M's in the freezer for months anyway... they'd be gone as soon as I got a chocolate craving!
mmm... now i want M&Ms!

I emailed the M&M people from their website and asked if I bought the M&M's now could I save them until November in their original unopened package.

Their response:

Hello,

Thank you for your email. The M&M's will be fine in November. Have a great wedding day!

Regards

Customer Care

YAY! I actually went and bought like 7 bags of the light blue M&M's that are on sale for Easter. They were 1/2 of the price on the M&M website!

No need to freeze!! Woo Hoo!elefant.gif

  • 1 year later...

I'm bumping this in case anyone is buying M&M's over Easter and plans to use them later.

Bottom line - M&M's will stay fresh in their original UN-OPENED packages if you buy them now and store them in a cool dry place. DO NOT FREEZE THEM!

All of this info is per the folks at M&M's.

Okay went to walmart yesterday

they have light blue, yellow, light green, and pink :)

I looked on the M&Ms website and by getting them in walmart you save almost 3 doller

And you can buy them in bulk from M&Ms site 5Lbs that if you get 11 bags (just shy of 5lbs) you save $20

So if you want M&Ms and you have easter colors you will save at walmart :)
