I'm a DIY loser!

Ok,

So I'm not a very good DIY'er, although I do try. I'm also not a computer whiz either. here is my question/issue:

 

I want to make my own invitations. Do I need to buy special software to do this or will Microsoft Word work?

I have 8.5/11 sheets of special paper and I only want the invitation to be a quarter of the size. Then in actuality I would be able to fit 4 invitations on 1 sheet.(1 in each quad of the paper). Its a simple invite, just text and our logo.Then on another piece of paper( 8.5/11) I would like to have something different only smaller, therefore be able to fit 8 of the same on 1 page.

Is there an easy way to do this? I'm clueless!

I would just use word. Very easy peasy. What I did was used Text boxes and made them the correct size and positioned them on the page.

Sizing the text boxes will defitenly work and is very easy. Not sure what other Microsoft products you have. But Publisher will also work. I believe both Word & Publisher may have 'invitation templates', so they may already be presized to the size you want, maybe not. In word if you just hit F1 (for help/search) and type in invitation, you will see different templates you can use.

Aww You are not a DIY Loser! Word is definitly something you can use. I actually made my own invitations in Word as well.

I appreciate all of your help. So I went into Word and tried to make text boxes but I cant figure out how to move them so that i can fit 4 equal size boxes on 1 page. I end up with boxes everywhere, all different sizes. some with bold lines some with broken lines. What am I doing wrong! I really want to prove to myself I can do this.

Another thing you could do is just make 2 columns and then in the top left type out what you want and then copy and paste it. I don't know if that makes since at all?

Okay. I just made a template really quick of what I am talking about. You can type over my words. If you hit Enter it will move the bottom portion down. If that happens you can always back space it back into place. Good luck!

Another option - go to File, New, and then hit "Templates on Office Online". There are invite templates there.

 

But columns is a good option too.
