FYI to anyone still confused...once you get a rep you will see a green or blue rep square at the bottom of the User CP page. If you don't it at the bottom of that screen then you haven't received any yet. I guess you just have to check that page frequently.

Now, I'm going to see if I can figure out how to do a rep myself, and return the favor!

Its the second icon on the bottom left of the profile of who you what to rep.
