Dreams Cancun - DJ Option

Here's what I'm trying to figure out...if you do the djing yourself and have to pay $180/hour for the equipment...for a 4 hour reception, that's over $700. If they DJ is $750, why not just use the DJ?

Or, does Dreams still make you rent their equipment when using a DJ?

Okay, I just emailed Carlos from Mannia Audio and he got back to me within minutes.

Here's what he sent me...

The Dj service includes:

Audio equipment

Robotic lighting

wireless microphone (for speeches and announcements)

Professional dj

Dj booth

5 hours service

And the price is $720usd

 

We have a really big song list that includes all kind of music , Jazz, lounge, instrumental, ballads, 60´s, 70's, 80´s, 90´s, dance music, rock, reggae, reggaeton, hip hop, rap, merengue, cumbia,bachata, and much more, i am sending you in the atachment a basic song list , just for you to have an idea , this doesn´t means that is all the music that we have , as i said our entire song list is almost a phonebook, i don´t know if you maybe can send us an small list of the songs that you really want to listen and dance including the first dance and another short list with the songs that you don´t want to listen and dance at all, this way we can have an idea of your music taste, we also can provide an iluminated dance floor and cold fireworks(see the pictures in the atachment),

Does anyone know if Dreams Cancun will allow an outside DJ to come in? I know some resorts will not allow it because they can provide the service. This is a great deal if they do allow it.

So, the dance floor and lighting and fireworks come with it? Or is that an added cost?

you may just want to ask the DJ you speak to if they've ever done weddings at dreams cancun, they're usually pretty flexible with outside vendors. And if he's been in business that long, chances are he's done weddings there, if it's allowed.

yeah, was just wondering the same? Dance floor included? Or does it come with a pkg from Dreams Cancun? I've never seen anything like that and really like it!

The DJ's pictures show a cool raised dance floor, while it is very nice, I don't know if the terrace or the tower lobby would accommodate that if you choose to have your reception there.

 

The ballroom would, that is close to the entrance of the resort.

 

Also, Claudia told me they do not allow fireworks.

I had sparklers a friend got for me during the holidays specifically for the wedding. She was okay with those once I explained what they were.
