Officiant question

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anybody else is bringing their own officiant with them. My mom is a judge and can perform the ceremony (although we have to sign the papers before we leave), but I was wondering if anyone has gone through this and had any trouble? Or if anyone knows how this works with the resort? I'm wondering whether we still have to pay the resort's officiant, even though we don't use them. Any experiences??

I don't know how that works, but I do know that in the wedding packages you are mostly paying for the paperwork and the officiant. I am getting the classic, which is one step up from free. We really don't get too many extras. This would be a good question to ask Chandlyn when you contact her. When is your wedding? I would suggest starting to contact her ASAP. She is very busy and it may take awhile for her to get back to you. This will make sure you have all your questiond answered early. Good luck and Congratulations!!

I am not getting married in Jamaica but I am bringing my own priest. We are getting a "credit" for the officiant fee that is included in our package and just applying it towards something else (maybe our cocktail hour).
