Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey girls - On the chairs - I was planning on having the reception on the beach and then moving everyone up to the Grill for the cocktails and then back down to the beach for the reception.

Do you think the ceremony chairs are suitable for reception chairs? And - do you think they can move them during the cocktail hour?

Great idea on the eBay bows!

Also – on the hair - How many hours before your wedding did you get your hair done? My wedding is at 4:00. I would think maybe of scheduling my hair for 1:00huh.gif I have 5 bridesmaids and I have no clue about these things?!

Thanks for all your help!!!

Hey Meredith, obviously I don't have first hand experience with this yet, but I think that you might need more time for you and then 5 BM's to get hair done. I assume that you can't all get it done at the same time so each one would have to wait for the one before them to be finished, KWIM? Then you still have to get dressed and stuff... just a thought.

I hadn't even thought about chairs. Thanks for the info!

Questions on the reception terrace: How was the lighting at night? Is it pretty dim or bright? Do do you recommend more light? From the pictures on the resort, it looks like they have small lamps on the posts, so it may be on the dim side? I am big on lighting (love candles) and was planning on having candles on the tables but would also like to hang paper lanterns w/ LED lights from the roof. Not sure if that is even possible b/c I haven't asked Daniela about it yet. Has anyone inquired about this? Anyway, if you had the chance to sneak a peek at the terrace at night please let me know :) These are really cute 14" Round Patterned Paper Lanterns Something like this would be fun http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15472 (pic on bottom) Colorful Paper Lanterns - SHOP BY COLOR How windy is it outside?

Fanny- I thought the reception lighting was too bright when I was there. I spied on a small reception with around 15 ppl. That was just my opinion. I love candle light but it maynot be the best with the breeze.

I remember there being a pretty strong breeze at night when I was there for my site visit. It's a lovely warm breeze but enough for me to question teh candle situation. Elisa did mention that the hurricane candle holders are best cause they blow out the least. In my last email to Perla I asked about this but am still awaiting her response. I asked her to send me pics of options for candleholders if she could. I will post if she sends them. She mentioned tiki torches and candle bags.

Missy what are you using as far as lighting?

You ladies are hardcore. I hadn't even thought about the chair situation. I kind of don't want to pay for different chairs. Is there a huge comfort difference? I thought there was a thread in the past saying that the regular chairs are pretty comfy. ?

The lighting was great when we were there - we are putting candles on each table (for the centrepieces) and then Perla is providing paper bag lanterns for around the outside. I actually found it to be perfect!

As far as the breeze - there really wasn't a noticeable one when we were there either. I think as long as whatever you chose is somewhat covered you will be fine. They have some candle holders/vases but Perla wanted $50 per table so I said NO THANKS and took my own down for her to store when we went on our site visit.

In terms of chairs - I wanted the Tiffany ones b/c they look nice and frankly I think FI was sick of me asking what he thought about every little detail shitfan.gif

Hi Girls!

Yeah – I am having the bufet dinner and dancing both on the beach. The DJ has a dance floor that he can just place on the beach. My only concern is the breeze, so I hope the weather cooperates! So far, your comments have made me feel better! :)

I would think the hurricane vases are the way to go. Not to be too cheesy, but the other option out there (if you can get them cheep) would be those new battery operated candles that look like the real deal! You can get them cheap on eBay. I may look into those. Then you can resell them once you get back.

For wedding guests not staying at the resort, they will have to purchase a day pass for $75. Daniela, one of the WCs, recommened that they arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the ceremony (unless they decided to arrive early and hang out at Paradisus). Paradisus' guest pass rate used to vary according to the time of arrival but there is just a flat rate for a guest pass now. I don't know if there is a different charge for kids.
