Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

hi Ayslinn and all you brides getting married there.

I wanted to know from you ladies if you have read anywhere if whether or not the resort hair salon does good jobs. I hair pretty difficult hair... actually more so just ALOT of it. It has been a concern of mine, as with the high humidity I hope and can only imagine they would know how to style hair so it stays put.

Anyway, any info on the resort salon would be great.. or alternative salon would be great too. I was thinking of flying my hair stylist down there... but lets be honest... who would do that... Lol

Other then that.. I was at on the resort property in May 2010 and was able to walk the grounds with Cecilia. We got a chance to visit when we were on our family cruise ship and it had stopped at the port of Cozumel and we ferried it to Playa and cabbed to the resort. I am sad that the roof is gone as I had seen in other peoples pics nice decorations hanging off the ceiling of that roof.

My wedding is only 3 months or so away.. and I am a little bit more zittery now. If anyone wants to keep in connection(via email) let me know and I would love to share bride stories with you.

Talk to you all soon!!

Hi Angie, I was looking through some past posts and I ran across yours here about having a DJ and Photog. Can you refer them and they're contact to me. I have absolutely no idea where to begin on these 2 items.

I have a family that loves to dance so I need that DJ and I love pics so will be needing an awesome camera man... ideas?....

I've only ever dealt with Daniela. She sent me an email last night but it didn't say much. Just that she was working on getting me prices on centerpieces and bouquets. I think we'll go with the Now to Eternity package since we already have a DJ and photog.

Alyssa,

I noticed Cecilia no longer works there... do you by chance know Alexandra's email?... or even Daniella's.

My wedding is on the 6th of Dec and I haven't heard back from the resort since my site visit in May. I called in June to ensure that my date was still set for the 6th and was told that it was. I was also told by Daniella that Cecilia would be sending me an email confirming that my date was set.. tho now I realize the reason I never heard from her was cause she no longer works there.

Not to get strssed so quickly, but now I need to make sure that my date is actually set so if anyone comes across my posting here, please let me know what the contact email is for the co-ordinators are, and if you know at about what point they contact the brides for the planning of the wedding.

Thanks all!!

Annkho, I am using DJ Moremixx but I believe the resort has a DJ and if you use them, you don't have to pay the $300 outside vendor fee. I am flying my photographer down.  Gwendolyn  Tundermann from Jacksonville, FL.  It actually cost me around the same to fly one vs. havin gone in Mexico and I get them for the entire time they are there so we liked that better. No language barrier and shipping CD's, photo books etc would be withing the US.

I had not heard anything about the hair dresser but I'm going to give it a shot. I considered having a hair dresser come to the resort but it would have cost over $600 which is out of my budget.

As far as I know, I don't think Alexandria is there anymore either. When I was there last month, it was Daniela and intern and they said they were also trying to hire one more person. Also, they say they typically wait until 2 months prior to the wedding to start planning.

If you have any other questions, let me know.  I'll try my best to answer.

Exactly 2 months away for me!!

Happy Planning!!

We were told about a month ago that they would have the coordinator stuff figured out as of yesterday, which will bring us to our third wedding coordinator at this resort. We emailed yesterday to check on status and have not gotten a response yet. Surprise, surprise.

Destination weddings are frustrating!

Hello ladies! I packed up a big box last night with our OOT stuff and its huge and I was originally going to ship it but now I'm afraid. Now I think I'm just going to check the thing! We get 2 bags up to 70lbs free on the way there.

Is anyone else freaking out??

I had my dress fitting last week and it fits great.  Just had to get the hem and bustle done but I cannot gain a pound! No room for errors there!

Hey Avong,

Wow what a feeling it is to know your wedding is just around the corner. I litterally have goosebumps right now as I type this for you.

So as your wedding is about one and half month away, what would you say is the most stressful part that is pending for you?... Any advise you can give th rest of us to look out for.

These destination weddings can be almost too easy I am beginning to think. I didn't even have a chance to turn into a Bridezilla yet!!! cheesy.gif

....well except when my sis told me she was planning to wear white, knowing I dont have a wedding party and wanted to at leas the only one in white. Yikes. I will be speaking to her this weekend..lol

To be honest, I'm not really stressing about anything about the weddig except for how I'm going to get all this crap down there and how to lose some weight! Ha! Besides the fact my fiance and I agreed that he can quit his job. Yikes! He's been super unhappy and under appreciated so we'll see what happens!!

I was pretty organized throughout which I think was helpful and also realizing that DW are very different than an at home wedding. They just work differntly as far as time and planning.  They are used to planning everything in the weeks prior the wedding. It took me a while to get that. Just relax and I hope it will all come together.

I also wish I would have worked harder to losing some weight earlier.  I started in April but still I haven't lost any weight!! Uggh! I had my first dress fitting and I cannot gain one pound if I want it to fit me!!
