I had my dress steamed at the resort and it turned out great and wasn't expensive- i will check the amount when I get home tonight and let you know!

*I emailed Carlos yesterday when that thread posted and he is NOT honoring the 30% off discount for me which I am bummed about. He told me that it was for those booking in April only. I guess you got lucky.. Maybe it's becuase your wedding is in April??

 

I am really trying not to stress but honestly I feel like everything is happening really fast and I want to physically MEET with perla to make myself feel better about the whole money thing.

Ive been booked with Carlos for a month and half or so, Im wondering if its just for weddings in April? If I get any more information I will post it

 

I know what you mean I just want to sit down with Perla and get everything sorted out, I hate not knowing and I dont want to be ambushed when we get down there with all sorts of fees. Things are happening very fast and Im hoping the situation with Sandra is sorted out fairly and it might resolve things for us future brides.

Missy R used Swank and loved them (and she'll be back up on the site w/in the next two weeks, so you can ask her in detail).

 

Fanny and Freckles, I can't find the receipt that has the steaming . I swear I think it was less than $20, but I'll email Perla and ask her for a copy of our bill that has it and let you know for sure. Just a tip, I had the dress steamed 2 or 3 days before the wedding for minimal stress, and had my MOHkeep it in her room (the butler had actually returned the dress to our room and had left it out, so it wouldn't wrinkle- which was nice except my hubby almost walked in and saw it! I sent him away before he walked in and moved the dress to my MOH's room!).

I don't think that you are making a msitake at all using SWANK.. I booked with Carlos because it would be less expensive than SWANK and people were giving him rave reviews. In the end it's becoming a little bit of a headache though....

Perla emailed me back on the whole DJ thing and sent me SWANK's external vendor sheet that I already had. It just sucks because if I knew I'd have to pay 15% of the original quote I would have:

 

1. Never got a quote from him

2. Not asked for a quote until I got other quotes and asked him what he would do to "match"

 

Hopefully Sandra will come back with some answers....
