Welcome Kim! I think the donation is a really good idea. I have seen people do that and they type up something that says "...in lieu of favors, we have chosen to donate to and then they put it in a frame where everyone can see it.

Attached is a picture of a centerpiece and blue overlay that Perla sent me. Also, I looked at the pictures from Del Sol Photography that were taken at the Paradisus and there are more pictures of centerpieces and table overlays there. Perla told me that the white linens are included but if you want anything in color layed over the top, its extra!! Hope this helps Missy!!

Oh just in case since I never specified my spreadsheet was created using your outline Melissa and I referred back to all the pricing based on emails between Perla and myself. She never sent me this document as of yet. I know 2009 brides are getting higher price quotes on things etc.

Yes she did send me all the chair options with the rental charges. I will try to post now bear with me. I also saw the linen book during my sit visit as to the various options they have so if anyone is going make sure to request to see that book. She didnt really send me any photos on linens but only told me prices, any color other than white for linens is $15, overlays $30, etc. I agree with your WTF comment on that one. ok posting chairs and rental fees now.

OK thanks for that! I really like the chairs - does anyone know if we have to choose for ceremony and reception? I really like all those options - just add it to the budget!

 

We didn't see the fabric book while we were there last year but thinking of going down in September for a site visit to wrap everything up!

The basic chair with the white covers are included (as many as are included in your package, which is 6 for the Wish). I don't have my notes on the price per additional basic chair but I think it's $3, and that includes the white cover. The other chairs are rentals and are brought in. For what it's worth, FI and I both sat in the basic chair and found them pretty comfy.

 

The swatch book is HUGE. You want it, they can get it. Lots of colors, lots of fabrics.

Perla quoted me $2 for each additional chair and cover and $4 for each chair bow - Now I need to convince FI to do a site visit in September!

DJ Update!!!!

 

So, I received an e-mail from Carlos yesterday - he's gotten the necessary insurance to allow him to DJ at the Paradisus. $750 for 5 hours (base rate). More if you want a dancefloor or fireworks.

 

I'm now need to figure out how much the Paradisus or Swank are going to charge me to have him there. I believe it's $65 per hour for Swank, but I'm not sure if it's also $300 for the outside vendor fee. Either way, I think I'm going that way because I've heard that Swank is fairly mediocre.

YAY! Way to go BECKS! I tried to convince FI that we should skip a wedding we need to attend on the 8th of Aug and go to Mexico - somehow it didn't fly!

 

I went back and looked at the DJ Policy Perla sent me - $65 per hour (4 hour min).

 

It also looks like there is a charge for Power (WTF!?)

 

"All suppliers shall indicate their electrical power needs with sufficient time to ensure that said power can be provided directly by the Hotel. In this case, fees apply as follows:

20 Amps $50 US Dollars per day

50 Amps $120 US Dollars per day

100 Amps $200 US Dollars per day

200 Amps $400 US Dollars per day"

 

I am guessing that the $300 also applies for an outside vendor... seems ridiculous that it is going to cost another $325 + $300 + power (say $200) = $825 - more than the cost of Carlos -

 

Pisses me off to no end... urghh..

 

And on another note - Perla has not been responding to my emails..
