I didn't ask. She said she was working on them. It was a pretty short phone call, so I'm guessing they are busy - it is wedding season.

Most importantly, I booked an all-day-if-necessary appointment for May 17. Everything will be finalized and quoted, priced and planned by the time I walk out of their office that day.

If there are things that you need answers to (I'll send a reminder that I'm going down), I'll be happy to inquire.

Hi Paradisus Brides - I'm now less than a month away. FI & I decided to bring an awesome LA DJ, and in order to jump through all the Paradisus loop holes we had to hire SWANK to provide equipment. Music is now my 3rd most expensive item on my budget right now - but it's very important to us, so I'm forgiving myself in advance for this expense and we're very excited. I actually spent a great deal of time this week speaking to Sal and Victor (at SWANK), and they're actually nice guys (at least they are over the phone) - I felt much more at ease when I called, for those of you with DJ questions use their direct number to call them toll free (866)417-0074.

Also, I agree with BECKS - call Elisa and Perla, it will cause you a lot less stress. I finally recieved my cost spreadsheet from them on Monday - and I have four words for you - BEWARE OF THE FLOWERS!!! They are rediculously expensive - However, if flowers are that important to you - Go for it!

Hi all- The changes at work are killing me so Ive been lurking all week but didnt have time to write.

Becks glad to hear you and FI are still travelling down it would of been nice to see you though.

LeShay its good to hear you are happy with your DJ choices. If it means that much to you and your FI its money well spent. Thanks for the update on speaking with Victor. He was actually always repsonsive to all my emails but I started getting a bit worried after hearing what everyone else is going through. I just requested an updated playlist from him and he sent an Excel version so its much easier to work with. Its over the allowable posting limit so if anyone is interested just PM with your email address and I will forward it to you.

Well Im off to get crackin' on my taxes this is the latest I have done them in years and years. I pray I get it over with soon plus its money I can put toward the wedding bills smile159.gif

So, I just got a note from our TA. The Paradisus is going to comp our room (standard garden view) when we go down for our site visit. Woo hoo!

Still haven't heard from Mannia about being our DJ - I don't know if they've yet connected with Swank. I'm so glad to hear that you feel positively about them Michele. If I can't get things worked out with Mannia, I guess we'll use Swank. Have you talked with them at all about a package that's less than 4 hours? We are thinking about the jazz trio for the cocktail hour, and since we're having dinner inside, we'll only need the DJ after dinner.

That's awesome BECKS! Ben and I are thinking of going down in September to tie up all our loose ends so that would be awesome!

I too am glad to hear better things about Swank. We will probably end up going with him because it seems like less of a headache - hard to say though!

LeShay you are sooo close! Is there anything you need us to do?

Awww Melissa Thanks for asking...Just keep up the interesting posts! It's been really great connecting with all of you. Becks when you go down there taste the Rib-Eye steak! It's the best steak they have - We've just decided to replace it with the NY strip, we're negotiating the additional cost of it now. Have any of you thought about what you're doing for centerpieces for your tables for the reception?

We were thinking of going for the striploin - is the ribeye really better? Generally striploin is a much better cut..

Perla sent me a couple of options (pictures) for centrepeices - not sure what we are going to do about those. I emailed her today to ask her for pricing.

I would like to do them myself but wondering if that is going to be a huge headache.

DON'T DO YOUR OWN CENTERPIECES!!!

Sorry. I saw your note and just panicked! I can't tell you how many weddings I've been in or around where people decide to do their own centerpieces and they either end up staying up until the crack of dawn and are exhausted for their weddings, or they don't get them done just right and are unhappy all night while they look at them.

My suggestion - if the prices are too high, then make every other table a small arrangement. Or use more greenery and just a few great big (lillies, amaryllis, etc) blooms.

You are too cute Becks! The only reason we would think about it is if there was something we wanted that wasn't flower related... I looked at the packages Perla provided originally and it says that centrepieces start at $60 - well worth it for me not to have to worry about it!

Have you girls decided what you are doing for centrepieces?
