The best workout DVDs I have ever owned- P90X

It's a 90 day workout plan and it gives you foods to eat, a book with all kinds of great info regarding health, energy, etc etc etc. We got our DVD's in the mail and started it Saturday morning. Well we did the warm up, and are starting it for real today after work. We did back and shoulders and let me tell you, I can feel it already and it was only a warm up. I'm taking it slow though b/c I NEVER work out or run or do anything that involves muscle movement sooooo it should be interesting to see how it works out for me. We went food shopping Sun night, got all our stuff and are ready to go! It tells you to take a picture before and after. If I do good I'm going to post the pix!

For those of you who have this video, do you think it worked? Someone here told me they loved it.

The are called P90X by beachbody. They are the best workout dvds I've ever done (& I've done a bunch of workout dvds.)

I've been lifting weights for 12 years. I never could have imagined there would be a dvd that can give me as good of a leg workout at home as I was getting at the gym with machines. It's actually better than what I was doing at the gym. I noticed more definition after I switched to the dvds.

My gym closed down sept 2006. Shortly after a friend told us about these DVDs. I've been doing them since then. Its so great to be able to work out at home. I put the dvds on my portable dvd player so I can watch tv while I workout.

There is a countdown clock so you know how much is left. There is a great 15minute ab workout too.

We don't have a pull up bar, so we skip that part. But, with just some dumb bells, a dvd player & a chair, you can get an awesome workout.

I didn't follow the eating plan, I just do the dvds. Also, the workout plan is really intense. I just do a dvd a few times a week. Our friends strained their back from over doing it (both husband & wife) so if you feel like it's too much, cut back. I like to mix it up with some of my other dvds like taebo & pilates. P90X is not for beginners. There are other programs from the same people that are not as intense. One is called Power 90. I also tried Debbie Siebers Slim in 6 but I didn't like it.

The entire plan is 10-15 DVDs of different weight lifint routines, cardio, and yoga. it's a great way to get guys to do yoga because it's like manly yoga. There is also a book that takes you through a diet plan. It's a good diet. I'm totally against fad diets. This isn't like that. I didn't have the book to follow the diet because I bought used DVDs on ebay.

UPDATE

You can modify it to suite you if you are a beginner. I should have explained this better. Don't do the program the way it is designed if you don't lift already. But, you can do a dvd a few times a week with lighter weights even if you are a not a lifter. I just wouldn't do it 6 days a week at first like the plan has you doing. I only work out 3-4 times a week most weeks. I really don't care to do more.

So you can modify this to be easier.

Also the really killer part is all the pushups. I don't do that dvd. thats the one that hurt my friends' backs. It's not a bad dvd. I just hate pushups.

I don't work out as hardcore as the program. But, I still get a lot of use out of these DVDs.
YAY QuelMoffett is me (changed my name) so anyway I got the dvd and its good so far. we did a warm up to see what it wa slike, we liked it. i feel it today thats for sure. i just posted a thread on it ahahahahasmile123.gif

OK...so I am debating buying this after reading reviews. I used to workout A LOT but over the past few years I have stopped. I want to lose around 10 pounds and really tone up. I'm pretty weak at pushups right now...I can do MAYBE 10 regular ones...and can run a mile without stopping but not much more (I know...not in the best shape). Anyway - I have read reviews and am wondering if I am not in good enough shape to start this. I like pushing myself but don't want to spend the 120 and not use the workouts...any advice is greatly appreciated!!!
