But you sumed it up. I think we find out who are friends are and where we fall in other people's priorities. It can be a slap in the face.

By the way, just talked to my MOH, she just announced her wedding will be a month and a half before mine. She doesn't know if she can afford my trip now. AAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh no Stephanie! That stinks.

WTF? if anyone's trip should have gotten paid shouldn't it have been mine? LOL

FI's brother has always said he's not coming, can't afford it because of school, etc. but he managed to buy a $1000 flat screen tv in time for the superbowl. what.ev.er.

and final example, FI's half-sister "couldn't afford to come" (not even a few days) but managed to plan her family's 10-day trip to disney THE SAME WEEK as our wedding. then she couldn't understand why FI's/her father got so mad when she posted all about it on facebook, LOL.

it's all in where people's priorities are. unfortunately, we can't make people spend THEIR money the way WE want them to. it can sting a bit tho when we learn we are nowhere near a top priority.

Oh man! That's crazy!! I just don't understand...it stinks to find out that you're not a top priority, but when you're replaced with a freakin' flat screen tv or remodeling, it REALLY stinks!! I'm so sorry Lisa. Gosh people are unbelievable! I'd lose my mind if I didn't have a place to vent...

OMG!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!?! first of all, way to try to steal your thunder by planning to get married BEFORE you. secondly, she already agreed to be your MOH ... please tell me she doesn't expect you to be HER MOH, all smiling and happy at her wedding when she's screwing you over! honestly, how does she even expect you to be happy for her? i would tell her i can't afford to be a bridesmaid so close to my own wedding either, lol.

of course, anyone else hearing this crap would probably say WE are the ones being b*tches about it. thank god we have this forum where there are people who understand, lol.

people make me so mad. i'm so sorry. smile03.gif

1. I'm scared of my depression.

2. I'm scared my FI (who is from the Dominican, and who I haven't actually spent much time with), won't like living here in Canada.

3. I'm scared that he won't understand my depression and that maybe we won't be all that happy together.

4. I'm angry at myself. I have an aunt who is racist and refuses to talk to me because of the man I'm marrying. I'm angry that I care about how she feels but she doesn't care how I feel.

5. Even though I told everyone I understand if they can't attend my DW, I'm sad that more people aren't attending.

I confess that I am at work and I have not done one single "work" related thing today. So far I have been on BDW for what seems like hours (okay only 3) designed 2 Luggage Tags and a Photo Share card on Vista Print and searched online for a cake topper for our cake. 1 hour to go and I have no intention of doing ANY work!

OK, Here is my rant... forgive me if I ramble on but I do have a few things I would like to get off my chest. And I am sorry if I have to comeback because I forgot a few!!!

I wanted to ask my oldest and dearest friend in the world to be in my bridal party. I would have love to have her as my MOH but she lives in a different city and is always very busy. If we are able to get together 2X per year thats good. We have been thru so much together. My FI and I have been together over twenty years and I thought she would be excited that it was finally happening for me. But when I tried to talk to her about going she basically told me that if she does not get married this spring to her long time FI then she could not possibly go to my wedding as it would be to upsetting! UPSETTING! She will not travel down to my DW unless she can have hers first! I was so upset. I thought she was my friend and would be happy for me. I cannot express the hurt that I feel, and so very let down. I just always assumed that we would be there for each other. The only people I have known longer is my family.

Which leads me to my next subject. My family. My Dad wanted me to do this here and next year so it could be a huge shindig, that I would be expected to foot the bill for. When I told them no that we wanted a DW and that if they wanted they were more than welcome to come. All I got were complaints about cost. It became such an issue than I ended up paying more for my package than my guests, just to ensure they got the best possible deals.

My FI does not want to seem to invite anyone. The person he wants to be his BM, he can't seem to reach and does not seem to be concerned about this.

I don't want to do this alone, but can't afford to do it here. I get depressed because I seem to have to compromise on everything. I don't want to sound selfish because I really do try to be flexible.
