Thanks for the support, ladies - the worst of it is that I KNOW my friends are happy for us, and that they are really glad we are getting married, but I just HATE that they are always so NEGATIVE about relationships and especially about marriage!

I mean, OK, at the moment you don't think you're ever getting married or having children. A lot can happen to change your mind! There's no reason to give up on love just because you can't find someone or because you had a bad experience!

And honestly, if you WANT a relationship, you have to open yourself up to one and at least TRY.

Ugh. People suck.

But I just wish that I could be there more for them, you know? But they seem to think that because I am engaged I don't know where they are coming from.

Yes!! It's like they think you don't remember what it was like to be single. But the thing is, you can only be there for someone as much as they let you. And you have to be careful to not let their negativity seep into your relationship or dampen your happiess. Being engaged is amazing and no matter what people say, they want to find someone too!! I'm there for my friends, but never at the cost of feeling guilty for being happy. I'm a big fan of taking care of you first, b/c in the end it will be just the two of you that really matter.

I confess: I was trying to keep our wedding to immediate friends and family to keep it small. My mother feels that some of her friends should be invited because "they've been there since i was little" I haven't seen most of these friends in probaly a good year or two. I dont think they should be invited to my wedding! Once we let my parents invite their friends....well that opens the gates for my FI parents to inivite their friends. I tried to explain to my mom that we have to pay per person for the reception, she says she'll pay the extra for her friends!!

And on top of all of this, we are having a AHR that all of these friends are more than welcome to come to as my parents are paying for it!!!

Our moms must be related lol!!! the same thing is going on with my mom and she says she'll pay for the extra cost too! I kept telling her that i also wanted it to be only people that are important to my FI and I, but I finally just gave up and told her she had 5 freebies, that she swears "wont come, but we need to invite them anyway".

Ohhh yes they must be Carolina! My FI says he can't invite everyone he wants to but my mom can throw in extra people? Then he says well if you want them there it is up to you! I'm pulled both ways here! It's been a week or 2 and it hasn't gotten brought up again, but I'm starting my save the dates/invites and I forsee it being brought up verrry soon! I'm very undecided, maybe I'll give her 4 and give my FMIL 4....

My mom also must be related to yours!! hahaaa... i think she kind of backed down from the wedding invites (well i mean she already has 3 of her friends invited).. but for our engagement party (that we paid for ourselves.. along with the wedding and everything else) she kept adding on more and more friends of hers that she wanted to add... one couple of which she had just gotten close with like a month before... and tehn was insulted when i told her that my FI and I werent inviting our own friends to keep the cost down and I couldnt afford to invite all of her friends...

I can go on and on there as you can tell... so i never told anyone but i knew how my FI planned on proposing to me before he did it..... I love my FI more then anything in the world but being romantic is not his specialty.. (is that horribly mean to say.. oops) and i knew he was going to pop the question soon just didnt know how and one day randomly he just says.. would you be interested in reading a book of poems if i bought one.... as soon as he said that i knew thats how he was gonna do it..... a few days later he came home with a book of poems and asked me to sit down he wanted to read a few to me..... I didnt have the heart to tell him that he blew up his own spot... but i def have to give him credit for the romance part of it.. it was so cute.. he read a few poems that he had pre-selected and then gave me the book and told me to pick one to read.. when i turned the page he had the whole half back of the book carved out into a heart and the ring was hanging on a red ribbon.... i dont think i will evcer be able to tell him that :X

That's so sweet Chrissytina!

So I have a confession... I was playing around in the vbPlaza, and was wondering how I could go about getting more points, found the thief option and attempted to steal some from a bride who hasn't been on here in over a year.

I was unsuccessful and now I have to start alll over! I learnt my lesson, don't worry I won't be trying to do that ever again!!!!
