place card dilemma

They sell orchids heads only, which can be used for name cards. I ordered their orchid stems because it actually came out cheaper than buying individual heads (I will just cut the orchids off). I am attaching some of them to the rafia fans.

 

I plan on doing the starfish name cards too but since starfish also aren't in my theme, I was going to tie in the orchids by putting some around the box holding my starfish.

 

I plan on making a box that looks similar to this one (I can't remember where I found this so unfortunately I can't give credit!). I will just "borrow" sand from the beach and then put orchids and starfish in there.

I love that pic Tara! Thanks for sharing. I may just do the starfish and then scatter the orchids around it too. That website is so awsome. I think I'm going to purchase all my stems through them.

So here are my mock-ups for my escort cards. Prim and Pixie will be designing the escort cards and I will either use raffia or satin ribbon to tie them on the fake orchids. I bought a ton of natural touch orchid stems from Cymbidium Orchid Natural Touch 34in<br>#3750 Green (thanks tara!). I bought an insane amount of stems from this company (orchids on my fans, escort cards, on my wish tree, drowned w/ a floating candle for my centerpeices)

Do you think people will be turned off by them b/c they're fake?

I don't think they will be... I would love it because I can take it home with me, attach a pin to it, and add it to my beach bag as an accent.

Did you receive your flowers yet? How do they look? Can you see any wire on the back side of the petals?
