my dad was a big magnum fan when I was growing up, so I'm all too familiar with the "nut huggers" ROFL...

Playa Grande in DR (btwn Rio San Juan & Cabrera) is probably the most beautiful beach I've been to.

I think my pics are on the upstairs computer and we're not networked, but here are one I googled (pictures really don't do it justice though...it was breathtaking!)...

I've never felt sand so soft, or seen water so blue (I'm not an ocean person, but I went in up to my shoulders it was so beautiful!)

In my opinion, the best beach in the entire world (that I have been to)

was on a tiny island called Ouvea. This is located in New Caledonia (south pacific islands southwest of Fiji towards Australia)

the beach is bleach white sand, incredibly soft, and the ocean is as clear and blue as those postcards and desktops that we all drool over.

this was also the day I got the worst sunburn I ever had :) so if you go, bring LOTS of sunscreen.

The most beautiful place I have ever been to was Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands.. White Bay Beach it was called. It was very remote and could only get there by boat. The bar on the beach is called The Soggy Dollar since there's no dock, you have to swim ashore.. and your dollars are soggy hehehe Only 300 people live on the island.

think of that Corona commerical "miles from ordinary".. it was shot there wink.gif

Ive been to Margarita Island 2x :) It's gorgeous!!! The first time I went was almost 15 years ago when they had maybe.. 6 hotels total on the island. It's much more touristy now but still gorgeous!

you know what - i agree about the D.R. - the beach was so soft and amazing - the water so clear and calm. we loved it - there was a little bit more seaweed than i usually care for but the staff spent hours every morning cleaning the beach so it wasn't that bad.
