Gray hair is over taking my head!

AHHHHHH! I am not even 27 yet and i have a head full of gray hair! It is really pissing me off! We're not talking one or two, but all over my whole head! I get it dyed but it seems like there are more everyday!

 

FI will catch me sitting on the bathroom vanity inspecting my scalp. He thinks I'm a little bit crazy! I keep telling him he is the one doing this to me!

 

I'll have to go to the salon about a week before the wedding, I guess. I really don't want to be salt & pepper at my wedding!

That sucks! If it makes you feel any better, my hair is thinning. My G-ma has really thin hair and I think I have inherited it! I have a big thin spot on the top of my head!

Your hair looks really dark in the pic. I say if coloring works, go for it!

I feel your pain ... if it makes you feel any better, I found my first one in HIGH SCHOOL! Plus - with my hair being so black ... each one practically screams "hey look at me!" They are not just gray - but they are those crazy wiry, course, metallic hairs ...

 

Needless to say ... that's why hair color is a girls best friend. FI didn't even know I color my hair until we'd been dating for a couple of years.

 

You might just talk to your stylist and see when they would recommend you come in for coloring. Sometimes it can change the texture of your hair ... so you might want to give a little bit of lead time to get used to it!

Yeah, I think having such dark hair makes them stand out even more.

 

Apparently this is a genetic thing. My nana was completely silver by the time she was 22, my mom made it to 28, so I'll cross my fingers I make it to 30!

 

I guess it is just irritating that men become more distinguished and we just look old! FI doesn't care at all about his hair!

I have a few here and there and it freaks me out. I have been going reddish the last few years but I think I'll switch to highlights. I think it covers better when you just have random ones.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I am 34 now, so grays are to be expected, but my Mom had almost a full head of gray at 18 -- and I am not far behind her. I have to get my hair highlighted regularly, but they still can't get all the grays covered. And I even use the touch-up root color in between because the grays become so visible so fast.

 

my hair coloring before the wedding will be just a few days before we leave ... so hopefully not too much will 'pop up' within a weeks time. lol

 

I HATE the grays -- but sometimes I still get carded for beer and cigs (yeah!) so I guess they aren't too bad when they serve as that mark of maturity. And I think it adds cerdibility on the job, believe it or not. Especially in sales, when you look a little younger but they see the grays and think 'wow, she must be older than she looks' ... (although I think I look my age).

I went to high school with a girl who had long thick black hair with lots of strands of gray...she told people she had an old soul and we thought she was cool! So it's not a bad thing...lol

 

I've had one gray hair for years but my hair is light so you can't tell unless you inspect my scalp. My mom says they grow more if you pluck them so stick to the die

Not to sound mean because you are venting...but I am glad I am not the only one!!! I am 28 and will be 29 soon and I have a ton of gray hair and I too am not talking about strands...it's patches and little broken ones in my part!!! I box dyed my hair about 3 weeks ago and it's back already!!! In the summer I put blonde highlights in so that it isn't as obvious when it grows in but it is really bad and no one understand unless they have it or you really pull up your hair and show them!!

This is so true and I wasn't aware of it until I started plucking mine and sure enough they are coming back in doubles and triples!!

An "old soul" .... that's a good one ... I'll have to remember that!

Michelle makes a good point ... highlights are a great way to camouflage ...
