M&M's in Mexico??..should we or not??

Recommended Posts

Okay, on the day my FI proposed, I was at home with our 1 week old son.

popcorn.gifMy FI and our daughter went to the movies, when they came back home, my FI says, "Oh honey, we brought you back some M&M's from the movie", and he hands me a little white bag from the movies with some M&M's and my engagement ring in it. love.gif

You guys know the rest and it brings us to the reason for my post.

Over the weekend I was sharing with someone the way my fiance proposed and the M&M bag. She suggested that we have somehow use M&M's in the wedding as a favor or something. I hadn't thought of that before, but I thought that was a cute idea. So, what do you guys think? Do you think they would melt? I was thinking of maybe placing some on the tables in little favor containers at the reception. Our reception is in the evening around 8pm.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, or if you think they would melt.

Thanks!

Speaking as a huge fan of the M&M... They do pretty well in the heat.

Here's what will happen: the chocolate inside will soften and the glossy part on the candy shell will get a little melty. But, thanks to the candy shell, they don't melt, per se. So all nicely contained, even if they are a bit softer when you bite into them. The glossy part is an edible wax or something - and it softens too, but not enough to cause a problem. However if you cool down the ones left over, they will stick to one another.

I say do it! Like Becks said, the nice candy shell will typically save the chocolate from making a huge mess right away. I think it'll work just fine! And it's so symbolic! Cute!!

Ooohh...OK! I'll do it! You know what would be really cute is if I could find a candy ring to put in the middle!! I think they sell those big ring pops at Sam's club - they are individually wrapped and are kind of big, but they might work. Have you guys seen any small candy rings?

Thanks - this is going to be so cute!
