Hmmm I hope that is not true because mine is not a new booking either most of my guest have already booked and we are hoping to move onto the Dreams contract to get the free room. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both od us E.

I see this term 'contract' flying around. So that means that at one point, you actually do sign one? Is it for the wedding, the travel/lodging info, or both?

I think the contract is for travel/lodging, I haven't heard or seen any contract for the actual wedding part lol.....

Has anyone put their deposit down to hold their wedding date? I need to, but am leery about giving out my credit card # through email... I was thinking of calling visa ahead of time and telling them $100 will be going on my card from DR and not to let anymore go on it from there... just nervous it may get used elsewhere down there as I have read that already..

That is probably the safest bet. I'm simple, so I prolly would have just given them the info without even thinking about it. But if you call visa to inform them that may help.

I def. gave my deposit a while back... calling Visa would be really smart. Let them know to monitor it for unusual activity more than normal (cause they always monitor). Good thinking girly!!

DId you have any problems with your credit card after you sent the hotel your info?? I am going to do it today.

I think I may have figured out my centrepieces too...

Just 3 glass tealight holders on a mirror charger plate. I still need to figure out whether I will put flowers that match our colour scheme around it too.. Not too bad in pricing either...under $20/table...cheaper than the hotel, that's for sure.

Nat, I forgot to ask when you sent your CC info, did you send it in colour or black and white.. I copied it in B&W and then realized they asked for it in colour, not sure if it really matters though.

I sent mine in color... and actually it was a b*tch, because the silver on my numbers didn't really want to scan in... it was fine though! I sent my deposit info in once we got confirmation from the judge on our date and time!

 

I absolutely LOVE Florida!! It has been a little too hot the last week, and according to Floridians they are in the middle of a "heat wave with record highs"... its more the humidity than anything else. My dyed blond hair is struggling this week, it looks more like a lion's mane!! Hahahaha

It should be better this week though, a "cold front" moves in mid-week. I use that word lightly, since their version is nothing like our Canadian cold fronts!! Any snow up in T.O. yet? It looks like FI and I might be moving back to Halifax before Christmas, since he got a full scholarship offer from a university there! Oh well, this will be just a nice vacation for the time being... lol

Just to chime in with the deposit chat. We sent our CC info and forms back in January (in B&W) and they still haven't actually charged our card for the deposit. I've e-mailed a million times asking why they haven't taken the "deposit" and our WC said this doesn't happen till we arrive at the resort. Which is a strange kind of deposit in my opinion!
