Dreams Punta Cana Brides

Oh yea, DUH sorry Nat I had a brain fart there. Yes he has seen my dress! He picked it out, can you believe that?! It was my 6th time dress shopping (every time before that I was alone, because we just moved to a new province and none of our family or friends is out there) and he came with me the last time, it was the first dress he picked out, the last one I tried on. It was THE one. =) He's so awesome. I'm not very big on tradition or superstitions, so I don't worry about any of that stuff about him seeing my dress. How about you, is he going to see or has he seen it? I would love to see a picture of your dress wink.gif

I love helping other people, I wish I could be there to help ALL of you because you have all helped me so much! <3

hey Ash! No, Ben hasn't seen my dress, and I'm not letting him (he doesn't want to anyway)! It's fun for us to have the surprise, but your reasons for FI seeing the dress makes complete sense!

I have some pictures on my moms computer (since fi and I share our laptops) so I can post them tomorrow or something. I actually have 2 dresses, one ceremony/AHR and one TTD... I will be a three dress bride actually, since I need to buy one for FI's family reception. It is far less formal than my family's (even that is pretty informal) but at FI's I don't need to wear my dress! PHEW that was a speel! Haha

Ta I think its a great idea to go to MAC, I have done that with my regular makeup already and its great!! Just tell them ifyou don't like a lot of foundation, because if no they will pile it on... haha

I love mac too. I think I am going to go anyways so I have the exact makeup I want.. and besides, a new life should at least deserves new makeup right?? That way I can just have my guest apply it if I need to... Have you guys ever tried false eyelashes?? I was thinking of getting them for down there or at least that day.

just wanted to say how helpful all of you brides are! you have given me so many ideas! oh fyi the bordeaux terrace is lovely with its own bar but def don't think 40 people and a dance floor would fit , its not that big. the el patio has a really cute lil pool/pond thingy next to it and has alot of potential of floating candles and flowers. hope this helps. i was there in jan to se the resort and i met sharon she was really nice. good luck with all of your planning and if anyone has any questions feel free:)

How long did your eyelashes last for? Did you lose any or have any of your own lashes rip out?

It depends on if you get one time use ones or not. They usually last me a few days (around 12 because I try to take care of them), but everyone's comfort leve is different. Individual lashes are more comfy, but the strip is easier to put on and they are more "tear" efficient. You can also do eyelash extensions if you didn't even want to worry about it. If you just want the ones to put on yourself though, you can get Ardell ones for cheaper than MAC to practice with.

Good morning, ladies!

I love all the activity on this board, but it's hard to keep up with! Every time I come on, I have about 3 pages to catch up on, and have to start a Word document just to keep all my points!

Ebredhawk, thanks for the info about the dance floor, that makes total sense. I think I would have thrown a fit if I was required to pay extra money to use space that we're already paying for! Yes, Sharron is my specific coordinator, she's the only one I've had correspondence with, and she did my site inspection in June, and I specifically requested her. She said it shouldn't be a problem, since she was the one in charge of assignments.

Regarding the menu prices, I think this has been asked before, but I can't find it this early in the morning: Does "pick one" mean you pick one meal for everyone to eat? I'm assuming this is the case, but what about allergies, will they do substitutions for those people? I know I'm going to want shrimp as part of some course of the dinner, but I have one guest with shellfish allergies... Will they give an alterative to her, does anyone know?

I'm a little nervous about going to MAC, I've been in there and looked around, and it looks amazing! However, I'm used to buying whatever mascara/foundation/nail polish is on sale at Shoppers, so it'll take a lot to get me to suck it up and buy their stuff! But you get what you pay for, I guess, and my wedding day makeup has to be different from my day to day makeup!

Thats ok, nsbride, all my friends call me "ta". Just kidding, but I don't mind! :0) What did you do to your poor finger?

El patio is a very nice terrace, and althogh the pond is beautiful, i worry about drunken guests falling in! Does anyone else have this problem? LOL.
