I think they make it up too, I was expecting to pay when we got down there based on past brides experiences... so when you see a misc. charge that didn't say DREAMS PC at first of course anyone would think fraud urrrghhhh I sent Deyanira and Sharron an email because I think that is just ridiculous how they did that, its not that I didn't have the money its the fact I cancel my card and all because I didn't know they were charging the card 9 MONTHS later... everytime I think about it I get pissed, I been without my debit/credit card for a about a week now, and I had to change all my automatic payments link to that card because of this.

Ok so my card was also charged this month, I just got the statement and it is under new activity. They must be catching up on all the reservations they promised without charging. I am little pissed too, but oh well. I just hope they don't end up charging the wedding to the same card, bc that is not the plan!

I guess they finally caught up on their "accounting paperwork" as Sharron told me they were behind on. We got our email confirmation on 1/27/10, so it hasn't been nearly as long for us, but I hope they charge it soon just to get it over with. I've been "subtracting" their deposit for so long now, one of these days I'm going to forget.

 

I'm sorry that happened to you both, but I thank you for giving us the heads up on their charging of the deposits. Unfortunately you had to go through all that. I knwo the feeling as only some of my CCs were taken out of my wallet (the ones without my picture on them), charged up in about an hour, and I had no idea. What a nightmare...

 

Maybe you can get something thrown in for free because of all the trouble they put you through?? ;-)

Hi BLJM, I'm sure you can fit anywhere between 8 to 10 people. Depending on your wedding size, I will highly recommend doing rounds of 8 ppl each to make sure people are more confortable as well as you have more tables in the terrace (which one are you using?) and it looks better! But it is really up to you, you might end up with some rounds of 8, some of 9 and some of 10 depending on your seating arrangements.

 

I'm sorry that you girls had issues with your deposit taken out without letting you know... Carolina also said that accounting was "behind" chargin the deposits, but I think the WC should had email each one of you letting you know that they deposit was going to be charged. The notice should had been sent 48 business hours before to ensure no issues. I guess in DR they do business "different" than we do here... I just can't imagine how the WC care SO little about their brides... is kind of crazy to me.....

Toya, that is really ridiculous for all of you who are just being charged now. I was charged about 2 weeks after I got my confirmation, and I was concerned as to why noone else was charged (AKA you ladies here) and I was. But now I see that since I bugged her so much she put it through... probably so I would stop bugging her! I'm glad you sent them an email about it, because that is just not right. Didn't they tell some of you they don't take it until you arrive? Seems to me someone wrote that here, but I could be mistaken!

 

On another note, I may not be able to have my reception on La Barcaza, since it seems we have people who might not be coming. This would make our numbers go way under the minimum 20 people, so keep your fingers crossed for us!!

Aww Nat, keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully it works out for you. If not I guess you will use the bordeaux terrace, it will still be beautiful.

oh for sure it would be! I was just really jammed up about the boat... its so unique!! I told Ben to invite some guys from his new hockey team.. at this point i just want the numbers for the boat hahahaha

Eliana, our plan B is definitely the Bordeaux restaurant, no question! I'm thinking about emailing Deyanira to ask her to reserve it, but not tell her its plan B... thoughts?

Absolutely! Email her saying that you want to reserve it and if she could kindly confirm with an email that is has been confirmed for you... If you then get more people to book and can change to La Barcaza simply tell Deyanira that you won't be using the terrace after all. I'm sure someone else will take it then.

But certainly confirm it, I love this terrace as it is the only one at Dreams that you can see the ocean from... I hope I don't get many more guests as I really want to use it..
