nat, i am so sorry that it has taken me this long to respond!! started a new job this week and had 2 cake orders so i was running around like a crazy person! we just loaded playlists on our ipods and they had a cord we could hook up to. they have music themselves too (it's very caribbean-esque) so if you wanted to use that while you're hanging out before dinner and during the meal, and then change to your ipod for dancing, etc., that would be perfectly easy. plus, that way you only need to make a playlist for about an hour and 1/2 or so. you'd be surprised how few songs that is!

toya, you are so close!!! i can't believe you've got less than 3 weeks!

christine, welcome back! the bus ride back to the airport was super depressing for all of us too. when we first got on the bus to get to the resort, everyone was excited and talking a lot. but on the ride back it was super quiet and everyone was just staring out the windows at the cows with the saggy skin! :) i think i'm still in post-vacation depression mode! can't wait to hear how your experience was!

I thought things were busy BEFORE the wedding...boy was I wrong!! Hahaha...I think I just chose to ignore them because the wedding took priority hehehe...back to reality :-/

I'm working on my review, but in the mean time, some of our photos have been blogged!!! Check out these awesome shots from Melissa Green!!! Melissa Green Photography | Utah Wedding Photography, Boudoir and Modern Photojournalist

I was lucky enough to have Melissa and Summer photograph our wedding and it was THE BEST decision I could have made. The only things I got to take away are my husband, my memories and my photos. That's a LOT to trust with anyone and we couldn't have chosen a better team to work with. I'll write more in my review!! I promise!!

Nat, as you can see from the pics if you get a chance to look at them, we got married in the gazebo. I was SUPER happy with that choice. The beach is nice, but I like the scenery and greenery around the gazebo more. I didn't want the audience that a beach wedding brings. We still had some onlookers, but not nearly as many as if it was on the beach.

I took lots of pictures of Bordeaux terrace because that's where we were going to have our "dessert hour" with the fire dancers. When Sharron checked with the schedule of the fire dancers, they said "no way" to Bordeaux because of the wooden pergola structure. It's definitely got to be my favorite view, but we had to do Himitsu due to the fire hazard. I have family photos if you'd like me to send you some. It's the perfect place for lanterns and you can put tons of them up if you'd like!

Hello Ladies...

I am new and have been reading about DPC for a few days. I just got my wedding date booked and confirmed by the judge. We have a date of November 19, 2010. I am a bit worried about the time that the judge confirmed - 6:30pm. I am afraid that this will be late and we will be too dark for pictures.

I have tried to search online what time the sunsets in Punta Cana in November and even though I have been to Puerto Plata a few times, I can't really remember.

Anyone have any ideas if it will be dark at this time or if there is a way to have the ceremony earlier - say 4pm. I tried to email the MC (Deyanira) and she hasn't responded to any of my questions yet. She has only responded when I sent her my ID, or my credit card and authorization letter so far.

Any advice would be great!!!

I am starting to feel the pressure of starting to plan things a bit!!!
