I would say relax a little. It's a year away, and although it's number one top thing on your radar, and $200 and a committment doesn't seem like a lot for you, it really is. I would say that people will probably book closer to September for your wedding. That way they know for sure if they will have the money. Some people just aren't good at saving.

I wouldn't hound them just yet.

This is a tough one, maybe you can suggest to the girlfriend that is bailing on your other friend that you and her split the difference to cover the cost of the room for your othe bm. Explaint to her that you don't know how to handle this considering you bm has made all of her plans based on sharing her room and it is unfair to ask her to cover the cost. $150.00 is not really that much money and Kelly may be open to this suggestion. The other suggestion, which we did, was if you have any children going could you bump them up to the adult price it could be cheaper then the $300.00(it was for us) and then on paper she has a person in her room, but she then gets a room of her own.

Fighting over a small amount of money is just not worth the drama, friends are to important for that:)

Welcome to the "disappointed in family turnout" club. This is something that I think most of us have dealt with. I don't think you're being unreasonable & can understand your frustration. While everyone says that they need advance notice, once they have it, it seems it still doesn't make a difference. I think that people probably feel that they have plenty of time since your wedding isn't for another year. They probably don't see any reason to give a deposit now when they have a whole year to make their plans. Trust me when I tell you that you will probably have people making reservations up to 1 month before your wedding. In the meantime, try to let it go, although I know thats easier said than done. Don't make anymore calls & let things fall into place. I know you just want to know if they are going, but do you want people to string you along now only to tell you later that they can't attend? Maybe prepare yourself for the idea that very few of your family members will attend. If you can handle that idea then you'll be fine.

I know it sucks but keep in mind that as long as you & FI are there, thats all you need!grouphug.gif

Welcome to the "disappointed in family turnout" club. ........I have to say, that line (as true as it is), has me CRACKING UP!!! ...I can"t stop laughing!....The "Disappointed in Family Turnout Club" is a sorority that we are all a part of! That is such a perfect name - it's hillarious!!

I think that I have gotten to the point with my family that I just don't care. Of course I would love for them to be there, but when you start to get so overwhelmed and stressed out worrying about if they are coming or not, it just isn't worth it. I am so excited to go back to Puerto Vallarta, that I am now just focusing on stuff I CAN control like the wedding cake table decor, flip flops and honeymoon wear! I haven't been able to reach my MOH for two days, my bridesmaid is on a VERY serious religious trip. Get your passport ready and focus on yourself. This is your day and time. Don't let them dictate your happiness!
