If you are getting legally married in DR you have to be there at least 48 hours prior to your wedding date. That's a legal requirement. However, if you are getting legally married at home first... that requirement would not apply to you.

Thanks for posting all of this info. I had emailed Nora at the end of Dec/Jan but she has hardly replied to me at all. There are still a hundred questions I have for her but she hasn't responded to me.

The symbolic ceremony is sounding much better these days. But now I just have to convince my FI to agree to it. Thanks for sharing!

Really? When I contacted Nora, she usually responds to me in like 48 hrs. That is how I finally got Ruth to contact me back, lol!
