But, my question is to people who already have had the symbolic ceremony... who performed the ceremony?? I'm just getting around to planning stuff...lol. I'm having a pretty casual wedding so I'm not stressed. Thanks Girls smile36.gif

Jenn,
Good idea on the time change. It's REALLY hot at noon. I started my ceremony at 430p, it was scheduled for 4p but we gave time to the straglers that couldnt find there way from the bar to the center of the hotel!! lol smile105.gif
Usually the Guest Relations Manager reads the symbolic ceremony.
I wasn't to happy with the idea. Especially if it meant she'd come out in my pictures. No offense to her, but I wanted someone formal. So I found Pastor York. He's an american pastor who lives in Punta Cana and does Mission work.
He charges $250 to perform the ceremony. You can customize it or he can show you what he usually reads. I's a 25-35 min ceremony. Nice man. He'll even ask you if you'd like him to dress up in suit or if it's casual. He speaks english and spanish.

Here's his website:
Eastern Dominican Christian Mission

Good luck!

Sapphire, when I arrived to the resort I did 4 dinner reservations in advance. 2 of which were for over 25 guests (Sunday dinner at the Asian was for 48 and the rehersal dinner was at the Buffett which they arranged a whole section just for my 91 guests). Now, because my wedding was in October (low season) the Hotel wasnt really booked to capacity. This allowed for the onsite flexibility. If you plan on getting married during hi season, they probably will say 25 guests require a private dinner. For the most part, each restaurant has a different seating capacity. So I guess it depends on which restaurant you chose as well. The resort will argue they need to maintain the restaurant available for all guests, so you can't fill a restaurant up and not pay the private dinner fee. Like I said, it depends.

Which restaurant did you have in mind? American, French, Asian, or Italian?

It doesn't matter to us as much which restaurant as it does the ability to have as many people as we want without extra $$$. I have no idea how many people are going to want to attend, but I want to be able to invite everyone we want without worrying that over 25 people is going to cost us an arm and a leg per guest.

Hey All you EdenH Brides!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that My Wedding was amazing!!!! my photos will be ready by the end of the month so i'll be posting a full review then.

I wasn't able to have my ceremony on the beach like I had hoped due to bad wheather. But they set up the tantra bar for us and looking back i would not change a thing. Everything was beautiful and no random people watching us. The next day for the trash the dress was beautiful so we got all our beach pics then.

We had our reception at the Jellyfish and it was perfect. this is the most amazing restaurant I've ever been to and anyone unsure about having your reception at the resort, you should really consider the jellyfish. The meal was the best food i've ever eaten in my life and to even have our wedding photographers say that was pretty cool.

I can't wait to post my pics!!!

anyone with any questions, please feel free to email, cause I won't really be checking this site until I post my pics.

I think the restaurant with the most capacity is the Italian and the Asian. You could probably reserve 2-3 habachi tables during 1 seating and not have to worry about paying. Or you can try the Italian restaurant as well.

You don't want to consider the Buffett? They can block a whole section off for you and your guests. I'm talking about an entire room. The buffett has basically 3 rooms. 1 dedicated for Paradise club members (which no one complies) on the far right, the center, and the left wing. We had the center blocked up for our 90+ guests w/out paying. Just thought.
