The wedding slideshow I have under the share your engagement/wedding pics shows some of the starfish. I'm at work and don't have access to my full set of wedding pics. If you can't find the pics, let me know and I'll try to post individual pics later.

I saw the picture and love the look with the starfish and the votives on your cake table! And the starfish on the guest tables - so cute. thanks!! (your pictures are amazing!) I'm going to try to recreate something similar. I'll post more ideas as I get some. My sister is helping with my decorations and she's much more crafty than me (thankfully!).

I emailed Maye she said the starfish are 5.00 each, I'm guessing their a larger one. She just said she can get them from a local store but didnt' say where. She did say they sell out of them from time to time so she would pick them up as she sees them if I wanted her too.

I have seen starfish used as table setting holders. You punch a hole in your table cards and put nice string through it. Then you tie the whole thing onto a starfish. The starfish are layed on a table and people pick them up when they are looking for their seating. I think $5.00 is way too much. You can buy them in bulk (depending on how many guests you are having.) If you google dried starfish you will get tons of websites that sell them and have them in every color. It would all depend on what you are using them for. If you want medium sized ones they go for $1.25. Maybe it's worth it to buy in bulk here and then bring them with you. Also, I've seen this done: Beach Starfish of Love Favor: $2.29

which is a favor for $2.29 that looks like a starfish ontop of sand, wrapped with ribbon. It's really pretty but it may be pricey if you have a lot of guests. That site also has the shells that they can engrave with your names and wedding date, if you want to give them out as favors. Hope this helps.

TammyM - I think $5 is way too much as well. There is a boutique store near my house that sells big starfish for $3 (which i thought was expensive!). Buying them in bulk is the way to go -it's just a matter of bringing them down to Mexico without them breaking. I have to keep thinking about exactly what I'm doing with the decorations, but I'm definitely going to get some of the little starfish to scatter around and I may do the big ones too for place cards or something. I'll let you know as I figure it out, but I'm happy to share the starfish / shells that I get since our weddings are only 2 days apart!

Yikes Tammy $5?? That's way too much!! Even though we got them from a shell website that you had to buy them in bulk, $50 minimum. For the small amount of people you have attending your wedding, it may be more economical for you to get them from Maye though.

Does anybody need the link to the shell website?
