Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

Hi girls-I am not a GPP bride, but FI and I went to the GPP in Punta Cana a year ago on vacation and it was amazing. The resort is seriously huge and everyone was very nice. The water was so beautiful-we had a great time. We stayed in the Royal section and the room was nice and spacious and we had a great view. Good luck to all the GPP brides. PM me if you have any questions! wink.gif

I will likely be there at the time you get married but we are looking at the following week. I wanted to ask you a few questions. I see your wedding date is on a Saturday, so that must mean that saturday's and sunday's are options for weddings? I was originally going to get married in Mayan Riviera and they do not have weddings on the weekends.
Also, do you know what the costs are for a private reception? Are you getting married on the beach or at the gazebo?
Anyway, I am really excited to see someone else on here that is planning there wedding around the same time. There does not seem to be that many brides for GP DR on here. The Mayan is flowing with info and brides, but I am really happy to have chosen DR now.

If you have any info that would be great. Thanks

Carolyna just got back to me for April 23rd which is a friday.....not sure since we head back home the next day...Did you have a set time? She e-mailed me and told me that the time will be decided once I'm at the resort...Is it just me?..lol

Shankd,

It's not just you!! I am getting married at GP on April 21st. Carolina was very loose with giving me a time. Originally she said 1pm, but then she said it might change, depending on the judge's other activities that day. (There are only 2 judges in all of DR apparently!).

We are actually having 2 "weddings" while we're in the DR on that day. First We will sign our papers with the judge, whenever it is it is confirmed, and then we have an english minister doing our ceremony later in the day. He is very flexible with times that day. It's actually nicer this way because I wanted to have my wedding later than 1pm.

Basically, they are so easy-going down there, and plan hundreds of these a year - they're pros! From my conversations with Carolina about these same concerns, I really got a sense of ease that everything will work out. But it's hard to not have full control!! I think as long as you know 100% what day you will be married on, try not to worry about the smaller details.

Maybe push back though and see if there is another day open that week, I don't know if I would want to be married the day before we leave. But not the 21st of course!!!!!cheesy.gif

I agree 100% with DEH, I felt the same, kind of in that, I have faith that in the end I'll have a great wedding! At first she had given me a time (2 pm), which I was so-so about, and then it got moved to 4 pm, which i think is a bit better as far as flow for the day, going into a cocktail hour of sorts and then our dinner. If you both are around, you should come to our wedding on the 16th!
