Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

So one other question.  I also want to plan a meeting place for after dinner the night before the wedding for drinks and gathering because it is my mom's birthday and I would like to do a cake and have a sign for her.  She has helped me sooooo much through this whole process.

Sorry, the question is where would be a fun bar to meet at that would be different then Hemingways?  I was thinking at first, maybe the Royal Suites lobby bar, but I want to be able to serve cake.  They will be able to make me a bday cake right?  I figure if I can buy a wedding cake, I can buy a bday cake???

They can probably make you a cake but I would get on asking for that NOW...chances are with only one days notice, they won't be able to accommodate. And since technically you'd need someone to serve it/bring it out, my suggestion would be to have it available at a restaurant...since you likely' can't make dinner reservations for everyone either with only a days notice, that means the most realistic option for the resort would probably be at the buffet otherwise, I think it may be too much for them. You should really ask Carolina if it is even possible...not sure. I think it's awesome you wanna recognize your Mom! Good luck! cheesy.gif

I don't see how they couldn't accomadate.  I will send Carolina an email, but it took her 2 wks to get back to me last time and she still didn't really answer my questions...of course.  I have seen bday cakes in people's pictures on trip advisor so I know they can do it.  I mean, if nothing else, can I not just say I'm taking it with me and everyone meet somewhere?  There's no way that we will all be able to be at a restaurant together.  Plus, some guests are only staying a few days and I don't want them to be on a schedule the whole time they are there.  I want them to be able to choose the restaurants they would like to eat at.  I really don't see why it couldn't be a possiblity.  A simple little cake that I will definitely pay for.

Definitely worth a try...just with all the inconsistency lately on what we've been told, I just wouldn't want you to get your hopes up and them not be able to deliver. If you can't get a reply through Carolina, maybe just contact the hotel manager since it's not specifically a wedding related question?

Kitty- There were 5 birthdays within the family and friends that came with us for our wedding and we had a birthday cake for all of them.

If you are on the Royal Suites side you simply go to the Butler located in the RST lobby a day or 2 before you want the cake and let them know that you need a birthday cake. It cost 20 dollars and it was delicious!! It fed at least 20 people and then some. I can't remember what the flavours were but I think you had a choice. They also put Happy Birthday with the persons name on it.

We too wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate, so we opted to meet at the RST poolbar at around  8pm and they put patio tables in a circle to accomodate around 20-30 people. It was a beautiful night out and it ended up being a nice private party.

I saw someone else post they provide a "cheesy" one if you don't. I am either not going to bring one or just bring one thats of our initials... depends how organized by then lol.

Quick question, anyone who didn't do the legal paperwork there, what does Carolina need to do the ceremony? Is it just a copy of the papers or your actual certificate. I am trying to decide which date we should do the legal stuff on here, but I think it takes so many days to get back I want to be sure we get it on time if she needs the actual certificate.

AND Carolina emailed me asking for our guest list which means it is officially geting CLOSE! I better get my butt moving to get everything together! Work and grad school have been consuming my life msncry.gif
