Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

No problem!! I find that often when you read some of the posts -- they don't mean anything until later when you personally start thinking about it! So, I knew the information was there -- I just had to go back and read it again! lol. Plus, I laid in bed with some tea while doing it -- so it wasn't bad at all!

it's so true! I read this whole thread and a lot of it didn't really mean anything. Maybe I should take some time and and re read the whole thing since I am so close to leaving and I am thinking about everything now!!

aww your so lucky, when I bought my pc I had the choice for the lap top or desk top and the FI said to go with the desk top as I like to down load a lot. But I regret it now, I could be sitting on the couch right now!! lol.

I must vent a little bit. I'll try and make the story as short as possible. I am just so angry and I can't help but take it out on the FI so now we are arguing!! sad.gif

I booked my package on Itravel for the trip. We booked for 1 week on the royal section for the deluxe suite (which is an upgrade to the deluxe junior suite)

We just had to put a deposit and the remaining balance was to be taken off our credit card Feb 7 (Last Tuesday)

A couple of weeks after booking our trip, we decided to add an extra week to our package to make it 2 weeks to have a honeymoon. So I called Itravel and spoke with an agent name Vikas. He had to call TMR (the operator we have our package with)to be sure they had room for the second week, I get a call back saying there is room but some changes would be made. Instead of flying with AC at 12pm we would fly with Air tansit at 7am but we would still have the same room ,deluxe suite. I said that was fine, as I truly wanted the second week, and as long as I had the same room type (the room we paid extra for, from the 1st week)

He assured me everything would stay the same ,room wise. I said ok.

Last Sunday, he calls me and ask me if it was ok to go ahead and pay the remaining balance a day early,to get the invoice.. this way it'd be taken care of and out of the way. We didn't have a problem with that, and he said I'd have my new invoice stating all the info. Perfect!

I wake up Monday to my new invoice. I read through it.. and guess what room type we were booked for, the Deluxe junior suite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (even tho we paid deluxe suite price at the time)

so now we've been fighting with them (even tho we have our original invoice with deluxe suite) to get our room we paid for. But they are fighting with TMR to pay for our upgrade, TMR wont budge. SO now it's up to Itravel, but the don't seem to want to do anything about it either.

And now guess what... what Deluxe suites are all booked up (and we are not one of them)

I'm at a lost of words, and I don't know what do to besides take both parties to court (which is a huge hassle, and I am not sure with my disease I could even handle the stress of court)

*Cry* sorry for the long vent.

Ahh, I've been meaning to write back to this but I was super busy yesterday. I am SO sorry to hear about this - I wish I knew what to tell you. I would just keep trying and fighting it. That's all you can do -- he told you one thing, and you were given/charged for another. I would even try contacting the resort maybe? Something CAN and has to be done -- you should not have to pay for something you are unhappy with, and you should be in the royal suites for the second week. Try calling again and really pushing, telling them you will cancel altogether and book with a travel agent somewhere else. Just stand your ground and maybe they will be more helpful.

Good luck! Keep us posted.

Hi Ladies!

Haven't been on here for a while... went to the Embassy yesterday to have Glenis do our papers. It went so smoothly and quickly. We were there less than 30 minutes. Now I just have to email the papers to our travel agent to send to Carolina. I am sorry to hear that so many of you are having problems with where to send the papers to. I live close to Ottawa so was able to go directly to Glenis at the embassy vs. a notary. Also, our travel agent is a wedding planner who translated the documents for us.

Caribbean lover, I hope the room situation works out for you. That's just ridiculous that they won't upgrade you since you paid for that room originally. Like you need this stress.

How is everyone doing with decor? I had originally hoped to have turquoise as the main colour for the wedding but had to switch to cobalt, turquoise and green (sea glass theme now) The bridesmaids are in cobalt and I ordered a dress for my niece (jr bridesmaid) in the three colours. It arrived within a week and cost me less than $50 US with delivery from JC Penney. So exciting!!! Its really cute. I will have to post pictures.

Fill me in on decor plans gals... can you believe we only have a little over a month! Yahoo!!

We found out that Tour Mount Royal doesn't buy deluxe packages, so they made a huge mistake by writing 'deluxe' when in fact it wasd junior suite. So this whole time (supposely)TMR was trying to buy a deluxe package. Supposedly they found one today and now they are just getting all the paper worked settled with, and we will get a new invoice.
I am not sure just how much to trust Itravel right now as we said if we finally didn't get an answer today we were complaining to the wrong full business department of the gov. So are they trying to get a few extra days, or are they being honest about the room situation. I just don't know what to believe.
Can I elope from my destination wedding? lol I wish I could sometimes.

It's amazing living near a consulate for DR, me too i wasn't even in their office for a half hour. I got my single status notarized by the city hall for $5.
and legal and translated by the consulate of Montreal.
I sent it to Carolina, along with the wedding form (with our flight time, how many guest, and some of our info with our fathers name, did you all send that to her too?) She said thank you very much for sending to me.. but yet she never told me she needed it I just sent it anyway! Thank god I did.

Decor: I decided the only thing I am doing, is bring centerpieces and glass seashell candle holders to go around the flower centerpiece. For the chair shash I'll just see what they have as my colours are aqua and baby yellow.
I'm doing the private beach party after dinner, Carolina said it gets decorated with ticki torche and all, so i wont need any decor for that.
The ceremony, from all the pictures, it looks perfect don't really need to decorate for that, looks like Carolina does a great job

what do you plan on doing for decor?

Qustion about photographer on site - I have been trying to get info/pricing for the resort photographer. Whie I have got some info it is inconsistent - can someone who has been there maybe offer some info? I saw once that "Jalu" was th resident photographer. When I emailed I got a reply from Peter at "Intistudio". I followed up with Carolina and she sent me pricing for the onsite photographer and it seemed like it was for a company called "Bazaar Co." - what's the scoop?! Online the base package seems to be $450 when you customize your wedding package at the Fiesta website and the pricing I got from Caroline was $300 more - not to sure what info is accurate.

Any insight is appreciated!

Best,

ManoCujo

I experienced the same thing -- I would try to get a price list out of the Jalu people and was told to just call him when I get there!! I was turned off after a few emails, I am not sure about their work -- but their communication before was very minimal and I didn't want to risk it. I ended up going with HDC! I am excited!
