Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Trust me, I have had the same concerns you are having.  I think it is so unfair that you pay extra for the private dinner reception (well hopefully private for me since the guidlines have apparently changed) and you don't get at least 2 entree choices.  Beef or Chicken...Surf & Turf... I would have chosen salmon myself, but I know not everyone will want fish.  The Tetrazzini has had mixed reviews, but the beef has had all good reviews.

So I talked with my FI yesterday and he would really like to go with the beef medallions so this is what we will do.  If it is not cook enough for certain persons we will just ask the servers to bring them back and cook them a little more.  I dont think they will have a problem doing that.  We will probably take the ceasar salad to start and the fruits with desert since we will have the wedding cake too.  Another thing to cross off my list.....

The resort photgrapher is JALU...if you google it, it comes up with the website and prices, sample photos, etc. When I was shopping for photgraphers, I seem to remember them being more expensive than most.

Good plan! I agree with you - I don't think they'd mind cooking it longer for some people if needbe. I'm just hoping they're all done on the rarer or at least medium side...I will not eat well-done steak and would rather eat leather and it would be a shame to not eat my wedding meal...in my opinion the meat's ruined at that point because not like you can start over. At least if it's undercooked, you can always salvage it by cooking it longer.

I heard from another bride that they cook it medium-well.  Maybe you can ask Carolina to make an exception for your wedding and have them cook it a little less so your guests enjoy them more.  But you cant please everyone, you have to choose and hope that your guests are gonna love it.  From the reviews I am pretty confident it will be great.

Just thought this was worth mentioning again....the beef medallions were amazing!!! All of my guests raved about them. They are cooked medium to medium well so if you are someone who doesn't like their meat that way you may want to get them to cook it well done. Out of my 52 guests, they had to cook about 12 well done for us and they turned out great. We also had 2 children with us and they had no problem seving them hamburgers and fries. The beef was served with mashed potatoes and a veggie but I can't remember which veggie. They try their best to fancy up the plate decoratively to make it more formal.

For those of you wondering, they also did up a little paper menu with a beachy pic on the front with our names on it and they list the courses on the inside. It is FAR from fancy but the gesture was greatly appreciated as I opted to not bring a dinner menu with us for the reception.

Thanks for the information, it is really helpful.  I'm glad to know they dont have a problem cooking the beef a little more for the people who likes thier well done.  I haven't though about the kids cause I didn't had any coming at the beggining but now I have 3 who's parents booked last minute.  Do I have to ask Caroline about the burgers and fries or it something they just do for all kids?  I'm happy to hear that all of your guests liked it, its hard sometime to choose only one option for everyone, but im sure it will be fine.  I'm glad they do little menus too as I am not bringing anything with me.

I'd let Carolina know ahead of time just to be sure but I don't think we did. I think we just let them know when we showed up at the restaurant. They still get the appetizer and dessert too. Oh just another FYI. I mentioned in one of my last posts that if you go with the caesar salad beware that it comes with anchovies on top which I didn't know ahead of time. I don't like them so I picked them off but I know a few of my guests would've much rather not have them on them to begin with. Had I known I would have asked to leave them off because they were very fishy and even after you take them off the taste stays in your salad. For those who like them, great but it's not my kinda thing!

So if the ceasar salad had not come with the anchovies, would you recommend it?
