Help finding bamboo fan handles

Guess what girls!!

 

i went to Lowe's today to get some keys made and decided to check out the Nursery and Landscaping section and guess what i bought?

 

4' long bamboo stalks for $0.57 EACH!

 

Yes, i was able to get 40' of bamboo for a little over $6.

 

FI said that it will very easy to slice them (we are figuring 10" for each handle so 4 per 4' stalk) and slice a 1" or 1 1/2" slice at the top to glue the programs in.

where did you get the picture of these fans from?? They are wonderful! I really like the look of them! Thought maybe someone on this board had made them, and had posted instructions on how to do it! Otherwise, let me know how you make them! I want to make them too!

Very cute and unique. My FIs parents have bamboo in their back yard that grows like crazy and his sister always chops it down for DIY projects.
