Ok- so I had never heard of this until last week. I think the pictures are fantastic and I would definitly get a 2nd dress b/c mine is traditional and poofy with beading. But is there any symbolism in doing this? Are you doing it with your guests watching or is it later? I would have to do it on a different day b/c my wedding is at 11am and want my hair to still look nice for the dinner reception.

And I know this is going to sound crazy, by my fiance hates the sand and the water so I know he would have no interest in doing this. He goes to the beach in socks and sandals so that he doesn't have to feel the sand inbetween his toes! So I'm not sure it would be so much fun to do by myself, so i was thinking I might ask my BMs to do it with me, but not if there is some significance to it.

any thoughts?

I am doing my trash the dress pics the next day too, dont want to be all wet and soggy looking for our reception and all. I wasnt going to get another dress even though mine is fairly traditional but now I am leaning towards getting another one (a great excuse for another dress, ha). I found one on JCrew's website. I know some other gals found some at White House Black Market and ebay.

As far as signifigance I think it is whatever you want it to be. I know we are doing ours for some intimate photos. But ones with your girlfriends sound like a blast too! Its your time, anything goes!!

I did my TTD the next morning .. a few guest heard I was doing it and came to take photos and help me out.. My DH was asleep in bed while I went out for the fun.. it was a BLAST! I went in the pool, on two bars, did a cannon ball into the pool, then went to the ocean for some shots.. I washed a bunch of the sand off my dress at the pool shower then went down the water slide that we loved so much...

It was a great time. You're right.. you won't want to do it in a large poofy dress.. they get heavy with water so have someone there to help you out of the pool/ocean waves.

That's very true - you don't have to do TTD at the beach. I know some brides have done TTD when they get back home. I think Leigh Miller did a shoot on the streets of NY - so clearly, there are no "beach only" rules. I think TTD just strays away from your "typical" wedding pictures and gets a little daring!
