How do you keep the sand in the sand ceremony vase to come home?

Recommended Posts

i came up with a great solution to this for another couple. take a plastic bag and put it inside the vase so that the bottom touches the sand and there is plenty of extra bag over the lip of the vase. fill that plastic bag with more sand and the weight of the sand will keep the other sand in place and keep it from shifting around and leaking out. tie that off and then put another plastic bag over the entire thing and tape it all up. if you do it right it should all keep nicely in place for your trip back :)

We used a picture frame that had several panes of glass for our sand ceremony container.. We taped off the lip of the areas we didn't want sand to fall.. It had a lid on it to keep the sand in.. our smaller containers were oil/vinegar containers so we just taped the small hole. Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a large ziplock bag.. some sad did come out (little) but we have extra at home to fill it back up.

We used a small bottle that had a cork - which worked great - except we used two different colors of sand, which we wanted to symbolize bride/groom etc. - however, we left too much room at the top and some of the colors got mixed up in the bottle - it still looks ok, but not as pretty as it did at the wedding!
