I found the cutest programs to put inside my OOT bags and I thought I would share! I am trying to figure out the most important information to include. I know all of the basics, hotel, welcome, ceremony info, things to do etc. Was there any really useful information that anyone included that I may not be thinking of? Thanks so much for your help! https://www.marrymemagazines.com/desitinationweddingprogram

Hello Everyone! My fiancé and I have been engaged for almost a year and we have just begun planning our wedding. We are getting married in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica; it is about 2.5 hours away from San Jose (the capital). We have a beautiful villa picked out that will serve as our accommodations and the location for both the ceremony and reception. I have been in contact with a couple wedding planners/coordinators that live in the area down there. We are leaning towards one in particular named Chelsea Brandau from Oasis Weddings. So far she has been great! Very detailed and fast with communicating back. I am wondering if anyone has gotten married in Manuel Antonio and/ or if they have used Oasis Weddings before. I plan a lot of events here stateside and for a moment I thought about planning the wedding myself and possibly hiring someone for the day of or doing a 30 day out package however I know the stress and needs that come along with such a task and I am not sure I commit such time. We are having about 40-50 guests attend. Our wedding is June 2019. We are in the process of creating and sending out the save the dates. Another question I have is how much information should we be sending out with the save the dates or in the next few months. Ive read so many different things online and now my head is spinning. Since we are not getting married at a resort and without travel packages, we will be the ones communicating with our guests about renting out other nearby villas that are managed by the same company. Our first step is getting a solid head count and to start booking other homes since the main one we are using for the wedding can only sleep 20guests (including ourselves). I would love and welcome any feedback on anythinnggggggg. Thank youuuuuu!

looking for some honest feedback regarding OOT bags... as I look through past posts I suddenly got a sense of FOMO (or fear our guests will have FOMO). here's what we're including in each person's OOT bag: color-changing tumbler travel first-aid kit aloe sunscreen hand sanitizer SPF chapstick kleenex gum advil pepto wedding brochure/book/info (not pictured) all in a standard paper gift bag with all that, we've spent about $450 for the 60 bags/adults we have attending. the 5 kids will get some sand or pool toys instead. I had planned on fun beach totes/bags, but after talking with FH and MOH - sounds like most wouldn't use it. Sunglasses don't really make sense to me, since I think (*hope*) most people pack their shades for Mexico I don't know - maybe I'm overthinking it, but is this enough of a gift bag for our guests traveling all the way to Mexico? I'll also add, we are bringing some adult pool toys like beer pong and floats for everyone to enjoy. thanks friends!

We happily celebrated our marriage at the Azul Sensatori in Mexico on March 7, 2017. I was a major DIY bride and was always on the hunt for good deals and great DIY wedding decor ideas. A huge thanks to all brides, past and present, on the bestdestinationwedding.com forum! Now that we’re back, it’s time to put my office back in order and pass along some of my extra wedding stock. I know as a Canadian bride, it was sometimes difficult to purchase items online as shipping costs were often astronomical. Also, sometime you just need a few more of something and the retailer only sells by the dozen or your local store is out of stock. I remember where I purchased everything as well and am happy to share this information with any buyers in case they need a few more of something down the road or want to colour match! I live in Oshawa, Ontario and can arrange to meet local buyers for pickup or arrange for shipping (at buyer's cost). If you require further information about items or measurements, please email me at [email protected]. I am willing to negotiate prices if bundling several items. DECOR Raffia Hand Fans - $1.00 each 8 - Brand new still with tags 9 - New but with cornflower blue ribbon and white real touch orchid Additional orchids are available. If blue is your wedding colour, some of your DIY work is already done! If not, the ribbon can be removed and replaced to suit your colour scheme. All White Ribbon Wands - $0.50 each 8 - Brand new, never used We ordered white and added a cornflower blue ribbon to each of our wands to coordinate them with our wedding colours. I’m happy to tell you how. The ones for sale are brand new and all white. 12" Blue Chinese Lanterns with Built-In White LED Light - $1.50 each 9 - Brand new, never used, still in original packaging Require two AAA batteries Clear 3 Tier Acrylic Mini Cake/Cupcake Stand - $20.00 Used once but like new Dimensions are as shown in the photo We used this at our wedding to display at small top tier for cutting then mini cakes on the other two tiers. Clear Acrylic Cake Cutting Set - $10.00 set Used once by like new Stainless steel with decorative handles I added white and blue ribbon to the handles. The white ribbon cuff is still in place but I removed the blue ribbon as it had icing on it. Can be easily customized to tie into your wedding motif. OOT BAGS We started buying OOT bag items before our RSVPs were finalized and as a result, ended up with some extra stock. Travel Size First Aid Kits - $1.00 each 9 - Brand new, still in original packaging Travel Size Advil (10 count) - $1.50 each 8 - Brand new, still in original packaging Travel Size Aloe Vera Gel (100ml) - $1.50 each 7 - Brand new, never used APPAREL Rhinestone "Bride" Shirt- $10.00 Rhinestone decal 4" high x 8" wide White v-neck, women’s size 1X Worn once, freshly laundered Tuxedo Shirt - $10.00 Black t-shirt, men’s size L Worn once, freshly laundered We wore these on our plane ride to Mexico. Other passengers thought they were great and we received lots of “congratulations” from random strangers. Ardene Sandal with Jewel Detail - $10.00 Brand new, never worn Size 8 These were my “backup” pair in case of a shoe emergency and were luckily never needed! Rhinestone Necklace & Earring Set - $10.00 Necklace worn once, clip-on style earrings not worn This costume jewelry set really sparkles and looks great on! I wore the necklace on my wedding day and received lots of compliments. I didn’t wear the earrings as I had a set gifted to me by my fiancé that I knew he wanted to see my wearing on our special day.

Hello, I ordered vinyl labels from Davet Designs for my tumblers to give out at our wedding this coming October. She sent me a proof and I okayed it and then she shipped me the labels. What I received and what the proof looked like really differed. The colours were wrong. I asked her if there was a printing issue and she blamed my camera. I had expected her to just reprint them and reship them- I didn't order a custom colour, I ordered the colour from the sample she had on the etsy listing. I sent her two photo's from two cameras. She said she would reprint them to check and then responded with: "k, I reprinted, it is just a muted version of the blue, but I see where you think it appears slightly grey. I don't normally do reprints for color, but if you want to mail them back and pay shipping, I will reprint them in a different color." I told her I didn't want a different colour and asked her if she was able to print in the original colour as promised and she wrote back: "what would you like for me to do? I NEVER reprint because of color and I'm offering a compromise to reprint" I am very disappointed and a little shocked after reading all of the positive reviews on here. I'm just going to use them anyway even though the colours are different than I had hoped since I have already paid for them...

I am putting together the list for my OOT Bags for my upcoming wedding onboard the Freedom of the Seas. We have about 42 confirmed guest traveling with us. I am planning to have each bag delivered to the rooms during evening turndown service. I have had a blast shopping for bargains . I was able to get a lot of items during black Friday and christmas sales. So far my bags include Bags - Hobby Lobby 3 pack canvas bags (white) - 7.99 with 40% off one item coupon. 4.79 for the pack / 1.60 each bag. The quality is nice. I did search the web and saw that Zazzle.com has their bags for 75%. They run different sales daily. If I had not already brought the other bags I would have used zazzle. I will use our logo and use iron on transfer paper to decorate the bags. Selfie Sticks - 3.99 at Michael's (Black Friday sale) These are so much fun. I really enjoyed using mine while traveling. Highlighters - 5.49 for 18 Amazon Wet wipes Individual packs - 2.00 for 24 in a pack. Bargain Hunt discount store Caress / Dove mens Body Wash - .90 cent for 12oz. Rite Aid I combined Coupons and sale price. I never bring enough soap when I travel and I dislike the soap provided so I thought this would be a nice thing to do. Bath sponge - .50 Fallas Discount store Parrothead 50 spf 6oz Spray - .50 Fallas Discount Store. I was stoked when I saw this deal. They had a ton left over from the summer. I felt like I Hit the lotto on this one. Check out all the discount stores clearance isles, you never know what deal you can find. Febreze - 1.00 Target I used coupons. The rooms are tiny and I always take air freshener on any trip. I am planning on getting Shout wipes advil Pepto Bismal tablets first aid kits crossword / sudoku puzzles playing cards pashmina's lanyards cotton dirty clothes bags - I always wished I had one when I travelled

I purchased totes from cheaptotes.com for my OOT bags and iron on transfer paper. I was just wondering how everyone created their designs for their bags. Do you have a good website that you found your graphics on? Does anyone have a template to share? Did you buy a design from someone and then print and iron yourself? I'm struggling with creating my own design and I'm ready to get started on these bags! Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Beautiful Brides (and maybe some helpful husbands too ), While I have been preparing everything to leave for our wedding in less than two weeks and getting all of the details together, it's struck me how much posts from women on this forum have helped me! You've provided creative ideas and invaluable advice and suggestions so although I've never been the girl planning my wedding since I was 12 (or honestly even since about 10 months ago!), I want to give back. My finance, Matt, and I are getting married at the El Dorado Royale Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico on November 13, 2015 and are SOOO excited! Throughout the planning process we've definitely learned a few things of what to do and what not to do. The lists below summarize my current 2-weeks out suggestions, but I'm sure they will change after we return. Our Do Nots: 1) Tell everyone your wedding plans as they're still forming. We knew we wanted to have a destination wedding and luckily even knew which resort we wanted, but THAT's IT. From the moment we got engaged the questions were endless and we ended up just confusing everyone more than anything. 2) If you're working with a travel agency or the resort's wedding planning services, DON'T hesitate to request a new representative to work with if you're not happy with the service you've been receiving. We worked with DestinationWeddings.com and El Dorado Royale uses Lomas Travel/Weddings to coordinate the weddings at the resort. Brenda, our rep for DestinationWeddings was very sweet and caring, but very scatterbrained and really screwed up some of our reservations, but most importantly, messed up quite a few of our guests payments and flight information. Marisol was our rep through Lomas Weddings and we had endless communication issues with her in addition to messing up quite a few things on the official arrangements spreadsheets. So I was CONSTANTLY double checking and correcting her work. 3) Get so caught up in the details that you forget how awesome celebrating your wedding with your closest friends and family in tropical paradise will be!! Our Dos: 1) Have a meaningful conversation with your fiancé about what is important to each of you for the wedding ceremony, reception, and everything else leading up. Matt and I were on the same page with many things, but we both assumed the other wanted a reception back in the US and were totally stressed about planning it. During a road trip we both admitted how much we were dreading planning and paying for it and were SO relieved to realized we actually both wanted the same thing! 2) Pick your location and date as soon as possible! (but don't rush into a decision you're not sure or excited about) You'll have more choices of dates, times, and locations within the resort the sooner you book. Checking out the resort in person removes so much stress from planning. We went to EDR on vacation a year and a half ago and KNEW it was the place we wanted to get married eventually 3) Send out some type of save the date as far in advance as possible along with estimated cost. We have quite a few quests that would not have been able to attend or afford it on short notice. I sent out a save-the-date e-mail about 8 months in advance along with information about the resort and pricing and most importantly, deadlines for booking and payments. 4) Have a small wedding party. Personally, we felt that asking our friends to be bridesmaids/groomsmen would almost force them to buy their way down to Mexico since we are unable to pay for everyone's trip ourselves. So it's just going to be my sister as my Maid of Honor and his brother as his Best Man. It worked out great that we each have 1 sibling! Bonus - It's Wayyyy easier to coordinate two people than 6, 8, 10… etc! I'll add more of the details to this feed as I get to it, and take some pictures of our OOT bags, the itineraries and welcome letter I made!

Hi Lovely Ladies, I absolutely love looking at wedding welcome bags! I think they're such an awesome idea for welcoming guests to a destination wedding. I'm getting married in June 2016 (yay!) and I've been looking at the cutest totes on baggedandloaded.etsy.com . I'm torn between deciding on a few of the designs (see the images). Which design do you like best? Have any of you thought of using welcome totes? Which do you think is better, paper or canvas? Do you know of any other sites that sell great designs? I'd love to know what you think.

Genuine Ways to Say Thank You to Your Wedding Guests
MarieSamSanchezPhoto posted a article in Planning
I'm not sure if it was just me being a stressed out destination wedding bride, but while I was planning my wedding I went through periods of experiencing extreme "destination wedding guilt," that is, feeling guilty that our guests were taking time out of their busy lives and spending significant amounts of money to be a part of our Wedding Day. While planning my wedding, it was really important to me to show our guests how appreciative we were of their presence. I wanted nothing more than to make sure they enjoyed their time during our destination wedding experience and I guess you could say, we went the extra mile to make sure they knew how thankful we were to have them there. Here are a few ways you can say thank you to your guests for being a part of your big day: 1) Plan a Welcome Dinner: This can either be done as a full spread dinner or perhaps a meet and greet cocktail and appetizer hour. Either way it's a wonderful opportunity to gather your guests in one place to mix and mingle before the Wedding Day festivities begin. Call it an icebreaker, if you will, most importantly it gives you another chance to make some awesome memories with the ones you love! 2) Create Welcome/OOT Bags for Your Guests: This probably one of the most heavily researched topics in the Best Destination Wedding Forum -- "What should I put in our Welcome Bags?" Honestly it's up to you to decide how much effort and money you want to invest into these little welcome gifts. Just remember to factor in how you manage to get these items to your destination location. If at all possible, try to buy most of the items when you're at your destination rather than having to lug it from home. You can fill a bag with items your guests will find useful during their stay, or you can be simple and keep it to a few bottles of local brew or perhaps a little bag of local snacks. No matter how big or small your gift is, include a handwritten personalized note -- something from the heart is always a beautiful touch that your guests will love. 3) Plan a Group Excursion: The best memories are made when you share adventures and unique experiences together. Consider planning an outing for your guests -- perhaps a catamaran ride, a snorkeling trip, a day at the beach or maybe an ATV biking adventure. These kinds of excursions can range from reasonably affordable to pricey -- so think about either paying for a portion of the excursion or footing the entire bill. If that's still not in the budget, perhaps you can cover the transportation costs or treat everyone to a meal afterwards. The main thing is that you're doing something fun together and at the end of the day, that's all that matters. 4) Plan a Farewell Meal: Maybe it's a Day-After the Wedding Brunch or Lunch or a Bon Voyage Dinner. It's one last opportunity to say thank you to those who've invested their time and money into being a part of your wonderful wedding experience. And don't forget to give one last toast thanking everyone for being a part of your festivities. A simple thank you and a hug goes a long way! 5) Thank You Cards: It really goes without saying, but thank you cards post-wedding are always a must. If you do nothing else, make sure you send thank you cards. Don't wait too long to send these out and if possible, take the time to send out handwritten personalized notes in each card. Even if you've done all of the above or nothing at all, a thank you card is necessary and will mean so much to anyone who took part in your Wedding Day. - - - About me: I am a former BDW Bride AKA as MarieSam and was addicted to this forum as I planned my own wedding in 2009. Since 2010, I have been the proud owner of MarieSam Sanchez Photography -- a husband and wife photography team based in Southern California and documenting love all over the world. -
I really wanted to do a welcome bag for my guest list of 18 that's going to Jamaica and a Oh Sh%t kit. However bags are costly then I feel like u need enough items to fill the bags. Which will include items they don't really need and wasted space in my luggage. I also live 15 hours from my family so I can't get others to carrier them or hand them out earlier. So next best thing is to do miniature canvas bags and use iron-ons to complete the look. They turned out great!!! No bag will have the same contents. Everyone will get the "airline ticket" of the weeks plans, q-tips, hand sanitizer, band-aids, floss, wedding party koozie. I found some cheap baggies that self sealed to put everything in. Then others will also get a flask, and joke gifts that the person who receives will understand. Like a PT test, condoms and so on. Each item will have a sticker with a funny note to them. That's what the bags look like as u can tell they are not that big. Perfect for an Oh Sh%t kit. That's what the bagged items look like. One thing I like about them is the fact that they are not zip lock bags. And here are what the stickers will look like. I haven't picked up the sticker paper yet so it's printed on normal paper.

Hello beautiful brides, I know that brainstorming for the OOT bag can be frustrating and also challenging, so many ideas and counting how many days are left to the wedding day can be a nerve wreck!! If you order too soon: you might change your mind, specially if you find something nicer and better later where you might be regretting because you spent money already and changed your mind (this is the most common situation while planning) If you order too late and wait for ideas: you might miss good sales, deliveries, colors, items available etc.. OOT Bags and Favors: I feel that this will depend on what you want to spend and how crazy you want to go (with the details). There is not right or wrong to spend too much or too little, because each bride doing either or will have her own justification..which is understandable! What was important to me for the OOT bags-favors: The colors, logos and the designs matching my entire wedding theme were my big dream!, I was doing tons of research. I starting placing several orders online and spent good money in the begging. When my orders started arriving I realized that I did not have a wedding theme or any logo with colors that matched anywhere . I was very concern and the orders were disappointing because I had spent good money already. I wanted to have my own logo, same designs, colors and my wedding theme displayed EVERYWHERE, , basically ALL matching. My colors were coral and aqua. All on my wedding day came beautifully and exactly how I dreamed it and my OOT bags were just what I planned on every single design. I am good at designing and I love to create ideas for decor and all that fun stuff , since I have a brother who is very skilled, I asked him to sit down with me and start creating a "Lina & TK" wedding theme...it would be our design displayed EVERYWHERE. brainstorm on what I envisioned. We used our suite design program (reason why I do not have templates ) PLEASE!! ask any questions you may want...I would LOVE to create an entire wedding theme for a bride I do finance LOL and discovered how much I love this this is just pretty far from what I do for a living! more than happy to help! it is exciting! Yes!! we got tons of ideas from this website which I am very thankful for. all pics below are DIY and MORE ... The real hard work started to make my dream come true...welcome bags and some pics of decor too Now all designs come true: Bubbles for the ceremony fans with programs (all customized with logos) Spanish and English (Had to do it in both languages) all would match my decor I made these rings inside the survival kit signage FINALLY ALL MATCHED ON THE MOST AMAZING DAY OF MY LIFE!!! PS. Please open each picture attachment-thumbnail if you decide to view it BIGGER!! they appear small because I have attached so many lol ALSO if you want to review my entire planning thread PLEASE check it out it might help you with some ideas!!! Love, Lina

I have 39 leftover OOT bags from my cruise wedding. Perfect for nautical or anchor themes! They are generously sized and my guests ended up using them as beach/pool/excursion totes. Asking $1 each plus a little to cover shipping so $45 total.

Does anyone have experience with dollardays.com for OOT items? I found some great bargains for aloe, sunblock, pepto, etc... but I am curious about the condition/quality. Or, any other suggestions for these items elsewhere, do share! Thanks!

Hello brides, The eco-parks such as XCaret and Xel-Ha require you to have biodegradable sunscreen as well as any of the snorkeling or diving tours. This is a federal regulation that is enforced. The biodegradable sunscreen at the parks is extremely expensive! I have provided links to a few biodegradable sunscreen brands. The site below is approved by the eco-parks and tours in the Cancun area. The bottle has "biodegradable" boldly printed for park staff and tour guides to see. They offer biodegradable packets for $0.99. They do not have travel size bottles, and the 8 oz. bottles are a bit spendy ($18). I think I will purchase a packet or 2 for each OOT bag. I will also purchase 1 or 2 bottle(s) that I will keep and let my guests know that I have it and they can borrow it if they take an excursion. This company also offers eco-friendly insect wipes and spray. http://www.mexitan.com If you use USA Transfers from the airport, you can order bottles of biodegradable sunscreen from them. They will deliver it to you when they pick you up from the airport. It is $12 a bottle. USA Transfers Here are some of the other good brands, although the packaging is not always as obvious and it may take some convincing staff that these truly are biodegradable.
