Hello wonderful past and future DW brides! I was looking for more recent reviews of Styling Trio for makeup and hair. I've seen some threads from 2011 and so but I'm wondering if anyone have any insight recently? From reading previous reviews, it seems that their rates change quite often. Is anyone willing to say what they paid or were quoted? You can send me a message if you'd like. I have prices via email but I want to make sure it's consistent. Does anyone know if these rates are at all negotiable? Lastly, is it really worth it to have Adrian himself (for the highest cost) or does his team do just as well?

Hello! i wanted to give a review to whoever wants to read one because i found these extremely helpful when I was planning my wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess. Sorry for typos/disorganization of thoughts because I'm typing super fast We had our wedding at the grand sunset princess on June 7th, 2014. My husband and i stayed there for 2 weeks, our guests stayed anywhere from 5 to 9 days. We booked with apple vacations through all inclusive vacations and resorts in denver, colorado. Most of our guests came from denver, although some came from different states, and even my grandma came from India! We had 45 guests total. When we all got to the resort we were pretty blown away. My husband and I were so excited right away. The grounds are so well taken care of and beautiful. The resort is massive and looks like a big palace. The lobby is open on all sides so you can see outside and feel the fresh humid air...It's awesome and so pretty. All of our rooms were fairly close depending on what room category each of our guests were in. Although the resort is huge, it was not hard to find people or get a hold of people for the most part. It was so fun to be able to walk along the walkway from the lobby to the beach and see people I know here and there from our wedding party. It was like being in a little town with all of your friends and family. All of our guests told me how amazing they thought the resort was. The staff was so nice and so attentive and helpful. The food was great and our fridges were stocked with water, beer, and soft drinks each day and our room was cleaned very well. All of the rooms were great. We saw the swim up, regular, and platinum rooms and they all were pretty spacious and nice and clean. The pools were so much fun, and so was the beach! We all loved it. I started planning my wedding last August 2013 and Guillermo was my wedding planner. He was/is AMAZING. I loved him. Let me just tell you first of all I was not very happy with him taking a week or even two sometimes to respond to my emails, but then again I did email him very often with different questions and requests. When I got to the resort he was standing there waiting for me to check in. He was so nice and welcoming. He took us to the wedding coordinator office and brought out a book or binder with everything I asked for and started asking last minute questions. After that I felt so good about everything! He knew my style exactly and I totally trusted him and felt less stressed right away. He was soooo good and I would highly, highly recommend him! The wedding day was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to say the least! We had our ceremony at the Sunset Gazebo and the reception was at the Chill Out Beach Club. I highly, highly, recommend this combination because the sunset gazebo is basically part of the chill out beach club. I know it seems pricy to have the private chill out club reception but it is SO WORTH IT! I can't stress that enough. The ceremony was beautiful and it was set up exactly how I wanted it. Now for the reception, it was private in the chill out beach club restaurant. The dinner was amazing, we chose the caribbean buffet. the drinks were amazing. the staff was so, so attentive and filled our drinks as soon as they were empty. everything went so smoothly and i was so pleased. The tables were decorated beautifully. I used our bridesmaids bouquets for centerpieces and they were placed in a cylinder vase with sand at the bottom and floating candles around. We also used the flowers from the ceremony as centerpieces for the head table. For 45 people, we had our head table with me and my husband, our bridal party, and then 5 round tables in front of us. Guillermo was so great, he added little candles and floating flowers in vases with water for centerpieces without telling me and I loved them! He knew exactly what I wanted. It was so pretty outside at the chill out beach club and having a private dinner with all your guests in that outdoor restaurant on the beach during sunset is truly amazing. After dinner, we cut the cake and had dessert and then went to the dance floor- we opted for the light up dance floor in the sand on the beach. The DJ played great music and my husband and I and our guests danced ALL night (even Guillermo came and danced with us )! We also opted for an extra hour, so we did 6pm-11pm and it was really worth it too. The staff brought us out drinks like crazy. They would bring out trays of tequila shots and our friends and family like to have a good time so....we drank a lot of tequila! It was so much fun! As for hair and make-up, I chose The Styling Trio. i researched this forever because I am so picky about my hair and make up. My hair gets really frizzy and poofy in humidity and I don't like to wear a lot of make up in humidity either. They did an AMAZING job. Adrian did my makeup and Angie did my hair. I will attach a link to our photos below. I saw in the forums that people feel like the styling trio is a little expensive, but believe me, just like about the chill out party-the styling trio is soooo worth it!! I chose Dean Sanderson as the photographer. You have to pay an extra $200 to the resort for an external photographer. I am so glad I chose him! he was so, so good. I also researched this forever....because i knew i would look at my wedding photos forever and be showing them to all of our friends back home that could not make it. So many people commented on how great the photos were. He does a great job of capturing the details and the moment. I love every single photo he took! He got photos of things I didn't even realize...loved it!!!! I highly recommend him. Super easy to work with and you barely knew he was there. I don't think I've ever looked so good in a picture in my life! Haha As you can see...i was so incredibly pleased with our wedding, the resort, and the vendors we used. They were all SO amazing! I am very picky about things and every single thing was exactly how i imagined it, or even better. Here is a link to our facebook album of our wedding. Even if you don't have FB, you should be able to view it. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10202993341609483.1073741825.1082610060&type=1&l=27b713ac30 Feel free to ask me any questions! Hello ladies, new on here! I am sooo pleased to have signed up as this looks like the best place to get all the info you need! Me and my fiancé will be getting married in Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana in June 2015. We stayed at this hotel in 2009 and had the time of our lives, it is a beautiful resort and we cannot wait to go back! I need some help, can anyone recommend a great hair and make up artist over there? I was in contact with Krystie Ann for quite some time as I planned on booking her but unfortunately, she will be gone a few days before I am due to marry I have done some research but nothing is popping out, please let me know if there is someone with super talent out there! Thanksss x

I have a 2 part question: 1. How much does the average bride pay for hair/make-up? 2. Has anyone had their hair and make-up done at the salon at Moon Palace? Did you like it? If yes/no, who was a good/bad stylist? Thank you!

Hello Brides, I finally have a chance to review my wedding in April 2014! It's been a long journey, and I want to help out other brides as much as possible, so here it goes.... Here are some professional photos: https://plus.googleapis.com/105327139201478088186/posts/MBtt7kdttkR?pid=6013667542488420066&oid=105327139201478088186 WC: Illeana Reyes - A First off, I loved Illeana immediately. She was very sweet and honest, and talked me down a lot when i was freaking out. Second, sh'es not super-responsive, but I think the longest she ever took to respond to me was 5 days, and that was when i had months left until the wedding. The month of my wedding they were immediate, and she was almost always available to talk on the phone. From start to finish she helped me with every detail and helped me stay in budget as much as possible. I'd use her again in a heartbeat. Flowers: Sergio - Flowers and Events - A http://www.flowersandeventsloscabos.com/ Sergio was affordable and had AMAZING flowers. I loved everything he did, and he matched all my photos perfectly (I especially loved my arch). Warning: he is super unresponsive, but Illeana told me to trust him, and that he would do his job, and he certainly delivered. The day before the wedding he sent his asst to my hotel to show me the flowers he was going to use so that i could see the color pinky peach he was using, so there wouldn't be any mistake. I would use him again in a heartbeat. I also recommended him to 2 other brides and they loved him as well. Hair and Make-Up: Neysa Berman - C- and i asked for this I didn't like my hair and make-up. I regret hiring her and not speaking up more- It was partly my fault for not speaking up enough, but I know she knew i wasn't 100% happy with it, and didn't seem to care that much. She WAS nice and punctual and professional, though... I had the trial the day before my wedding for the rehearsal/welcome dinner, and a lot of people commented how dark my face looked, so i asked her when she started doing my make up for the wedding if she could lighten my foundation a couple of shades. Her response? "Oh, yeah i noticed that yesterday." Ok, thanks for letting me go to my rehearsal and welcome dinner looking like that. Then she put my hair up, and it didn't look like the trial from the day before or any of the photos i gave her (see above). When i told her that, she said she couldn't really change it b/c then it would ruin the s-shape she had made in my twist in the back. Who the hell cares about the twist in the back? I look like I have a wig or helmet on, AND my eyes look smaller... Like I said, I should have been a bridezilla but she didn't make me feel comfortable saying anything....but I wish I had. Oh, on top of that, in some of my wedding photos my face is like 3 shades darker than my body, so my photographer had to do some photo-shopping, which brings me to my next point- Photographer - Gilda Badillo - B+ I really liked Gilda, but I had to tell her my face was 3 times darker than my face in a lot of the photos. I mean, shouldn't she have seen that? Other than that, she was lovely and funny and energetic, and got everyone smiling. She even put up with my drunk friend who kept photo bombing all the pics. I'd hire her again, she gave me a great price and i wish i had booked her for more time. Hotel - Casa Dorada Resort - A+++++ God, I love this resort. I wish i could call every single person that wants to get married in cabo and tell them to get married here. They have the best staff, made us and all my guests feel like VIP, and were accommodating to everything. The only thing i would change was the lighting in the room. We need more light when we get our hair and make up done! Those windows aren't enough! The food at CD was AMAZING and CHEAP! Almost all my guests stayed there, we fulfilled our room block with no problem and everyone loved the location- you can walk easily to downtown. The WC, Jazmin, at CD is also great- sweet and awesome. Welcome Dinner - Baja Cantina - C+ I wouldn't do it here if i had to do it again. They were VERY unresponsive, mixed everything up, the night of we had to stand around while they brought 2 more tables even though we told them for weeks our final count, they served the wrong margarita, they would give me one price one week, then weeks later said they gave me the wrong price, the payment site didn't work....i could go on. They did however make a special plate for my vegan friends, which was very sweet, but that doesn't really make up for all the headaches they caused. And the food was just ok...the food and drinks were very different when we had dinner there on other occasions, definitely not as good. I'd have CD whip something up for me if i had to do it again, like a bonfire or a taco station at the firepits, b/c they're cool like that. Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck all of you trying to plan your wedding around the hurricane aftermath.

HI Ladies - So will my wedding package at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach (in Cabo San Lucas Mexico) hair and make-up at the PBSB Salon and Spa is included. However I couldn't find any reviews on the place online. Or any reviews on this forum. So not sure if I should use the spa there for me and my bridesmaids. Anyone have any experience using them??? Your reviews would be very helpful for me. Thanks!

I had my wedding at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. I hired Blanc Salon as an outside vendor. They sent two girls to do my bridal hair and make-up as well as the hair of the mob and four bridesmaids' hair. It was humid, which was uncommon for June. I was very nervous because my naturally wavy, thick hair had been a mess in Cabo. The Blanc girls were miracle workers and made all of our hair gorgeous and frizz free. Ashley did my hair and make-up; she was phenomenal! The makeup was better than I imagined. The makeup was so well done- I had my share of happy tears but my makeup remained perfected (another miracle!) five stars out of five! They are the best!!

We are working towards my dream of getting married on a beach, and I completely failed to think of something- the wind.. humidity etc.. I had high hopes for wearing my hair down, with a pretty white flower to match my dress. How is everyone else planning to wear your hair for your wedding?? Has anyone had troubles with humidity/wind?? Maybe I could just use a but load of hairspray and clips??

Hi Everyone, I am getting married in Punta Cana at the end of November and I just don't feel secure in using the small resort's salon. The two well known hair/makeup artists, Anna Nuet and Krystie Anne, are both booked. I'd be wiling to hire a hair and makeup person separately. Any recommendation at all would be so appreciated. Thanks! Miriam

Hi Ladies, I have been getting a few tips when it comes to hair. My dress is strapless with sweetheart neck line. I had originally wanted to go something with my hair either half up or swept to the side but I have been getting a TON of advice from friends and friends or friends who have had or went to destination weddings and they all say HAIR UP!! Most of them say that you will inevitably get hot, plus by the end of the night I have noticed with a few weeding pics I have seen the hair starts to go flat and not as nice obv... Thoughts from ladies on either side?! What is everyone else doing

Hi, everyone! So, we are planning a destination wedding in Mexico (probably Riviera Maya or Cancun) for April 18th, 2015. I am having some serious anxieties: 1. the guest list is too big to me! (but, we can't really cut anyone out) -we will have at least 35 guests, but probably closer to 40-50 2. I have no idea how to go about choosing which resort. I thought I wanted the Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun, but the package was for up to 20 guests and the packages really didn't have the important things. SO, back to square one. 3. I think that I need to stop being so concerned with the budget because in reality, we are still saving quite a bit by doing a DW instead of a local one. 4. I am also freaking out about photography, hair, and make up. I feel like even if there is a photographer provided by the resort, we should still hire someone from the outside? And, hair and makeup - is it possible to have a trial at the spa? I am terrified of the make up just..not..looking..so...great.. or my hair being too flat... I don't know. Does anyone have any suggestions, or can someone at least relate? I feel like I am being so dramatic, but I don't really have anyone to listen to these concerns because all of my friends have had local weddings. Thanks so much for the venting! Happy wedding planning!

After 10 months of planning and looking forward to our trip, it has come and gone and was a fantastic party!!!!Here goes my review! General: The resort is beautiful, though the grounds are small. However, for a wedding party it’s fantastic! We ran into each other everywhere and considering it goes up rather than down, it was so easy for us to run to and from another’s room. We were there Jan 15-22, 2014. The resort was booked out completely, so it was hard for ones in our group who did not get the right room/beds/did not like their room to switch around…so that got a touch complicated as they had to wait two days to do so. There were also 8 weddings the week we were there. SOOOOOOO Busy! Check-in: 5/10 We arrived Wednesday night at 8:45pm….and I has emailed the day before to remind them as 40 of us arrived at once and we had kids and babies in tow. We were hoping for more staff at the check-in so we could all get to dinner (our 6 hour flight had no food and people were starving). However, check-in was brutally slow and people were absolutely dying waiting there with no food. Some even abandoned their luggage just to head over to the buffet. The buffet as it was late…had no proteins left…so not the best combo. Also, a whole section of our group was plunked on the second floor which is right near the entrance and had a ton of noisy all night long…and could not change rooms for two nights. We also had two men who had booked two double beds, and ended up with one king…they were not impressed. We were greeted with champagne…but it was a touch late and part of our group had abandoned the line for the buffet at that point. Resort: 9/10 Dreams PA is a beautiful resort. It is small, which is why we chose it. The staff at this resort was amazing! They were attentive and were always around to serve you or ask if you needed anything. Rooms did have a touch of a problem. Several of the showers did not drain, and a few of our guests complained that their toilets plugged. Also, most of the rooms smelled quite moldy due to the moisture. BRING FEBREEZE, our one bottle was a lifesaver. Also, some rooms had tubs and others didn’t…it was kind of odd and they gave the showered rooms to our families with babies and tubs to others who would not use them. The resort offers 24 hour room service, which we took advantage of a few times. Our food was usually delivered in 30-40 minutes and was good. The room service menu is small, but the items were yummy. Rooms/Housekeeping: 7/10 We stayed in an ocean view room (748) and had the honeymoon package, the day after the wedding they had a little banner on our door. There were flower petals all over the bed with towel art when we arrived. They had a bottle of wine and two apples for us as well. Every day they made some cute little animal or doll out of the towels. While the room is nice, it is very narrow and not too large (the day of the wedding with all the girls there trying to get ready it got really hectic and felt too small)…in hindsight I would’ve gotten a new room. But the view was awesome…no complaints there. They weren’t very good about refilling the minibar, we left a note for certain things and never got them refilled…we had to go grab water from our concierge. Our lock on our door was also broken…on the wedding day…and it took them a while to get it dealt with. Also, no water pressure in the showers! Beach/Pools: 8/10 the beach is SMALL. It is beautiful though with warm water and soft sand. Don't plan to take long walks, although I think if you really wanted you could walk down the beach of the other resorts. We were so busy with all the plans and the weather wasn’t that nice when we were there so I didn’t spend much time at the beach. The pool was really nice for the little ones…I saw them in there every day; also the service at the pool was amazing. Super quick and the servers were always around. Every time we turned around there was a new round of shots or drinks. Food/Restaurants: 9/10 the restaurants to choose from are: Seaside Grill: by the main pool, easiest to go to. Food was good, pretty quick. Outside seating. Also open for lunch! With a different menu so that was awesome. World Cafe: dinner here is not as good as the a la carte, so aside from day one we didn’t eat here. But pretty good stuff for breakfast! Portofino: Italian; some serious lines to eat here! But the food is amazing! Steaks at all the restaurants were amazing, melts in your mouth. The tiramisu here is to die for as well. El Patio: Mexican; we ate here for our rehearsal dinner. They put a bunch of tables together for us, amazing service and they do a little show with their Mayan coffee (coffee lit on fire). Really cool! Oceana: Seafood; we froze to death! Also it was a cold night and we didn’t realize it was all outdoors. Also we went for our welcome dinner and had a group of 20 and 10….the table of 20 waited almost an hour to eat because they all had to be served at the same time…they do this cute little reveal with the dishes covered and all that. But because of it people were starving and cold. Opps. But the steaks were amazing and so was the cheesecake! Gohan: Sushi; DO NOT EAT HERE….it was not good….and bugs were falling into our food. Entertainment/Things to do: 7/10 We watched a few shows, their magic one was meh. Their fire show was really good, and their rock band/dancing one was okay. I would say overall their shows are not as good as the larger hotels. Wedding Details: Wedding Coordinator: 10/10 I worked with Jacki, she was great to work with, but was really busy so we never got the rehearsal that we asked for…but I ended up watching a wedding the day before and told my wedding party what to do. Jacki pretty much showed up when we needed her to, and the wedding dress, and flowers just appeared. Also, she took all of my decorations and had them up without me even telling her what I wanted. She also set up a surprised bridal shower for me on request by my bridal party and it was beautiful! Spa/Hair: 6/10 Heads up, spa area is TINY! If you were hoping to get a big group in at one time….plan ahead. I had my trial done the second day I was there and the hair turned out fine…but the makeup. NOT IMPRESSED. But I am Asian, so I have features that I guess she did not know how to work with. Also, I had asked ahead of time if they have spray on foundation and was told yes…..She did not have that, nor know what that is. I also asked her to contour my face (she did not know what that is either). With my eyes, if makeup is too heavy or beyond the lids I look like I got punched in the face. Ha-ha. So I had shown up with pictures of a trial I had done previously, with step by step pictures. The makeup artist was not able to replicate. So, in the end I went back for the hair…and was fortunate enough to have amazingly talented friends who did my makeup. Thank goodness I brought all the makeup that I needed just in case! The hair and makeup trial costed me $110, and just the hair on the day of $60. Flowers: 5/10 I didn't care too much about flowers so I only had my bouquet, a boutonniere for my hubby, which Jacki had said would be coral but turned out red. It also died really quickly…so not sure if the outliner was worth it. I had real touch bouquet and boutonnieres for the rest of the bridal party which looked good the whole night! Photography: 11/10 (can I say that they are any more amazing?) We had an outside photographer named Jhankarlo and his assistant Diana, they were amazing!!!! I would highly recommend them to any bride!!!! Very reasonably priced and they even spent extra time with us just the get the right shots. I will be doing a review just for them!! They have also worked in Dreams PA before and knows all the right places on the corals and throughout the resort to get the best shots with the best lighting. We also had a First Look shoot and they coordinated where to meet. We also did our trash the dress shoot with them as well and had an amazing time. They are so easy going and just makes the shoot extremely fun and comfortable. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! http://jhankarlophotography.com/ Ceremony: 10/10 Our ceremony was at 4pm in the wedding gazebo. It was fantastic as the sun was setting the light was shining from behind our guest, so we were washed in sunlight which made for fantastic photos and also our guests did not have to squint. I had no flowers for the gazebo, but I didn’t think I needed it. It has the white chiffon materials all over and I also brought pink and coral chair sashes and starfish aisle deocrations. We wrote our own vows, and opted out of anything religious. We also had our wedding party read a children’s book ‘I like you’ which was lovely. But aside from that the ceremony was really short, had I known this I might have added a sand ceremony. We rented the speakers! DO IT! Cause the waves were quite loud and hard to hear over it. The ceremony was more than we could ask for! It was short, sweet, and very much tailored for us. Couldn’t have asked for more. The sound system to set up was around $120. Brides! You have to walk over sand to get to the gazebo!!! Be aware if you are wearing extremely high heels and have no one to hold on to..I sank in the sand a bit so my dress looked a bit longer and made it harder to walk. Dinner: 9/10 We booked out El Patio for $900 and had it from 7-10pm. The food was fantastic; we chose the Caribbean buffet and had the option to switch out some foods, which was great! Because we ended up choosing all things that we liked. Coconut fish, short ribs and potato and leek soup was our favorite! However, we were so busy during the reception that we didn’t get to eat much. Reception: 10/10 My only downside is that the tables are set up around the tree in El Patio, and therefore my parents sat in the wrong spot, and could not see us. I didn’t have table seating and we ended up all dancing at Desires Night Club and so we did no dancing at El Patio and did not need that much spacing between the tables… El Patio is gorgeous, and I had brought tons of sea shells to be placed as centerpieces and Jacki had them scattered with candles all over. It was beautiful. I left all of the sea shells there with Jacki, in case any future brides with like sea shells all over as well! Conclusion: Our wedding was more than we ever imagined! While Dreams PA may not be perfect for the older crowd, the intimacy of Desires Nightclub and the fact that the resort was small made it the perfect location for our wedding group to meet up and run into each other and to have our own small party every day and everywhere that we went. I don’t think we would go back to Dreams for a vacation (too many groups and too much partiers…like our group! Ha-ha) but for a wedding it was fantastic! I have attached pictures and also, my wedding plan and several other documents from my planning process.

hi all! So I guess I could be posting this in the wedding attire/accessories forum, but i wanted to post specific to cabo because I know it will be hot, but probably not quite as humid as some other destination spots (from what I've heard). Since July will be very hot, just curious if anyone had any trouble w/ their makeup melting off or if they used any special products that helped out? I'll be having a makeup artist from the states w/ me, but I'm in Southern California which doesn't get that crazy in the heat department, so I just want to be ahead of the game preparing for the extreme heat. Thanks for any tips!
