KyraBridal worked off pictures and drawings I had sent them and did a great job, especially because I am not a seamstress and had no pattern to send… they did a great job and were wonderfully flexible. :) The sweetheart neckline is heavily beaded and scatters as it continues down the torso to the asymmetrical dropped-waist line. The front of the skirt has no beading save for two diamante details, one on each hip and one dropped lower than the other.

Since both FI and I have close friends and don't have a particular best friend, we've decided to have a competition to choose the MOH/Best man at our resort. We're planning to have it at the AI resort during our wedding week and coupling people together to do multiple competitions until there is one couple standing. I want both mental and physical challenges. I was thinking of having a flip cup competition, some kind of logical puzzle to solve, and maybe a picture scavenger hunt, they offer paddle boarding at my resort so was thinking of jousting on it for the final competition but may be too risky.. Anyone have any suggestions?

I know this topic is going to strike a chord with many brides… We are getting married in Riviera Maya. We decided to have no bridal party as our guests are spending a great deal of money to travel to Mexico and we don’t want our friends and family to spend more on bridal party costs. I’m inviting many of my girlfriends/sisters to join me in the bridal suite the morning of the wedding- a care-free and fun getting ready party for everyone! I know the resort provides a day of coordinator for the wedding. What I’m thinking is I may ask one of my best girlfriends to act as our day of coordinator, and be the resort’s “go-to” for all questions regarding our wedding. I have a very special friend in mind; she is coordinating with several other girlfriends are working together to plan the shower and bachelorette party and she keeps asking me “how can I help?” I’m not expecting this person to help me pee or fetch things for me or be my “bridal b*tch” – I would just be asking her to make some decisions or answer questions from the resort/guests if needed. My FI and I both totally trust this person to make decisions on our behalf and she’ll ensure we don’t get hit with any fees or surprises. And honestly, I can’t imagine there’ll be much since the resort has the whole ‘wedding day execution’ down pat. I am absolutely planning to give her an amazing gift, to thank her for her help and include her in the program. (I’ve thought about paying a portion of her travel, or something similar) I cannot handle the term “personal attendant” because she is not! She’s an amazing woman who we know can make calm decisions under pressure, who is organized, super friendly and just overall amazing. She’d be a Bridesmaid if we were having a bridal party, but that’s not an option. Has anyone done something like this in the past? Any ideas on what to call her?

Hi ladies, Just curious if any of you used the store Bella Bridesmaids for your bridesmaids dresses? Or if you are considering it? I have to use them because the dresses I want my girls to wear are only sold there in my area or else I would have to order them directly from the designer which is a little more expensive. I ask only because my experience hasn't been that great so far so I' hoping it will get better.

I had my heart set on having my bridesmaids in convertible dresses so that they can tailor the dress to their own personal style and body type. However, I was reading some of the older forums and a couple of the former brides said that convertible dresses are a bad idea for women with a D cup or larger bust. I honestly thought it would be okay but I guess I could be wrong. Out of my 7 bridesmaids, 4 of them have size D or larger cup size, I would hate for them to be uncomfortable. Have any of you come across this as a problem with your bridesmaids? Thanks in advance for your help. This is an example of the type of dress that I am referring to: http://www.nuovavita.com/signature-cocktail-convertible-dress-avail-in-over-20-colors/

My wedding is a little over 3 months away. I am getting ready to send out invitations and since we have a smaller budget than is usual for a wedding, we're only allowing plus ones for those who are married or have been in a serious relationship for at least a year. The main reason for this is because if they've been together a year, chances are me or my fiancé or both of us have met them more than once and know them enough for them to be at the wedding. My matron of honor lives out of town and I'm getting a room for her and I to share since she's not with anybody right now. This has been the plan since I started planning it. She also agreed to pick up my dad who lives in the same town as her. She and I spoke this morning and I advised her of the plus one situation and reminded her about picking up my dad, a conversation we've had more than once. She tells me she doesn't remember agreeing to pick up my dad and also tells me she was planning on bringing a guy and having a sex filled weekend. Normally I wouldn't care who she's messing with, but this is my wedding. First, the room is only for her and I, so where's he going to stay? Second, my fiancé and I don't want someone neither of us even know, let alone met, at our wedding. (And before you ask, yes, I've discussed this with him). I'm just wondering what to do at this point. I feel like this is time she should be spending with me, at least the day before and morning of. Am I wrong? What should I do or say?

Question: If I'm getting married in a tropical wedding climate, should I opt for airbrush makeup? Answer: According to Styling Trio, a premier Hair & Makeup Agency in Cancun, Tulum and Playa del Carmen: "The answer is YES! Airbrush makeup is a formula designed for face and body, developed expressly for Makeup Artists working in High Definition TV, film, and beauty. The HD airbrush makeup gives the skin not only the perfect look on the wedding day but also the perfect look in the photos as well. Photographers here in the Riviera Maya love airbrush makeup because of the natural look and feel it gives to the skin. Also there is less retouching involved since the airbrushing allows for a more uniform skin. Airbrush makeup holds up very well, it rests on top of the skin, sealing it from outside agents but the skin will still be able to breath and look its most natural. If you are getting married in a tropical environment you must be aware that humid weather can be a nightmare. Precisely the reason why there are specific products to keep your makeup flawless for a minimum of 12hrs and up to 18 hours of holding power! It is important that you look your best throughout the day of photo shooting, ceremony, the dancing and crying! We are aware that airbrush makeup is not the perfect fit for every bride, you have to trust your makeup artist and it is always better if the artist of your choice has first hand experience in tropical climates. An experienced artist will find the best makeup application for your face and skin type. Don't forget the importance of how the product is applied and product choice, after all, this is a tailor made service so it needs to be customized to fit her needs. Here at STRM we specialize in long lasting beauty for your most sacred events. As you can see thanks to the miracle of HD Airbrush makeup, it has become one of favourite tools to date! And we have plenty more tips and tricks up our sleeve." Styling Trio is a Hair & Makeup agency representing talented artists in Cancun, Tulum and Playa del Carmen. Adrian Guerra founded Styling Trio in 2009, with a clear vision and a fantastic team behind him, the agency is the premier choice for brides searching for the best hair stylists and makeup artists in the Riviera Maya. I Find Baby Showers Wasteful, Irresponsible And Depressing'
carpenter posted a blog entry in carpenter's Blog
DEAR MISS MANNERS: Most of our friends, married or not, have embarked on the task of producing children. This means I am invited to multitudes of baby showers, sometimes more than one for each baby. I disapprove of baby showers for two reasons: First, we are in a global resource crisis, and people, especially Americans, should have fewer children; and second, showers encourage wasteful consumerism, when the mother can easily obtain hand-me-downs for her rapidly growing child. I am alarmed at the number of otherwise intelligent people who, despite this being the First World with forms of birth control widely available, still have unplanned pregnancies and make no secret of this fact. The majority of my friends' pregnancies have been associated with shotgun weddings, underwater home mortgages, or conception occurring after the loss of the father's job. For these reasons and others, I am not thrilled when my friends become pregnant. I love my friends, but once they have kids, they fall off the face of the earth. It makes me sad to lose my friends and watch them throw away their promising careers and lives to enter the black hole of babydom. PHOTO convertible bridesmaid dress Given this, it seems inappropriate for me to attend baby showers. My friends are familiar with my views on reproduction. I am happy to help my friends in other ways -- come over and do the household chores for a day, for instance. But is there a polite way to decline to attend a friend's shower? GENTLE READER: Yes. It is: "Thank you so much for the invitation, but I will not be able to attend." Miss Manners notices that being familiar with your views did not deter your friends from having children, so you needn't feel neglectful about refraining from repeating them after the fact. DEAR MISS MANNERS: My sister and brother-in-law are going through a very bitter divorce. We have since found out that he is a liar and a cheater, and a man without honor. There will be times in the future that we are attending the same social function (graduation, wedding, etc.). How do I show my disdain for this man without being considered rude? What if he should approach me to speak? What if he is with someone? What if he is with the woman that has contributed to the breakup of the marriage? GENTLE READER: A divorce, like a funeral, has many mourners but few principals. (Miss Manners has noticed that participants in a divorce sometimes also divest themselves of their principles, but that is a separate topic.) Proper responses can range from a cold aloofness to a deliberate snub, but as your grievance is subsidiary to your sister's, your behavior should follow her lead, without exceeding it in severity. Even then, it must be done quietly, so that your reaction will not attract the attention of other guests. Please remember that your primary obligation at such events is to avoid spoiling them with the fallout from less happy situations. READ MORE kissybridesmaid country bridesmaid dresses -
The Best And Worst Dressed Stars At The 2015 Emmy Awards
carpenter posted a blog entry in carpenter's Blog
Best dressed Samira Wiley, who plays a tomboy character inOrange is the New Black, looked sublime in a shocking pink cape dress. From prison inmate to screen goddess - we adore this transformation. Naomi Watts did jewelled embellishment perfectly with a simply cut strapless dress falling at the shin, made from two gorgeous fabrics. Jaimie Alexander gets points for eschewing cute and pretty and going for a daring, futuristic Armani Prive gown with full coverage, and degradé sequins that produced a strobe-light effect. Claire Danes, who's been on red carpets since she was 15, played it well, pleasing high-fashion critics as well as red carpet fans. Blue and maroon sequins created an interesting pattern on the shimmering Prada gown, and the hefty metal chain straps made for some seriously edgy hardware. Taylor Schilling, who plays Piper in hit show Orange Is The New Black, looked positively radiant swapping the prison jumpsuit for a lemon-yellow, flowing Stella McCartney gown. There were those who won by playing it safe: Padma Lakshmi looked stunning in a yellow satin Romona Keveza gown that radiated old Hollywood glamour with a classic train. Jessica Paré, who plays Megan Draper in Mad Men,shone in a stunningly elegant strapless gown. While most men go for relatively prudent, well-cut tuxedos, eccentric Scottish American actor Alan Cummings blew them out of the water with a grey three-piece suit, "billowing" voluminous pants, a banknote collage tie, maroon pocket square and umbrella. We salute you, sir. Worst dressed PHOTO peach bridesmaid dresses A shocker in this category was the stunning January Jones in a green Ulyana Sergeenko jumpsuit. These two stylish names should go well together, but they didn't - from the waist brooch to the strange pleated chiffon tail, it was an odd outfit that fell flat. Emma Myles, from Orange is the New Black, also didn't win any points with a black and painted floral print dress that looked like it'd been dragged out from the back of end of the '80s. Fellow cast member Laura Prepon, who we're usually a huge fan of, disappointed with a gown that could have been worn to the recent China-themed New York Met Gala Ball - and that isn't a compliment. Half-embroidered Imperial empress-y top for just the neck and shoulders, and then a fire- engine red classic fishtail gown - what was she thinking? The usually on-point Heidi Klum sported a half-and-half, sunshine yellow Versace gown that said both period drama and mermaid movie. A long, barely there netted skirt with a strategically placed leaf shape that barely covered her modesty, and a single, long, swishy, wizard-like sleeve... it was a head scratcher. Still, with her face and body it almost doesn't matter - you could throw a potato sack on this woman and she would still somehow manage to look incredible. Notably dressed This is the "wow, well will you just look at that" category. Maisie Williams, who plays the precocious Aria in Game of Thrones, went super feminine with a bubblegum strapless pencil dress and a pair of adorable fluffy white sandals - not the kind of look we're used to seeing on her, but we liked this playful take. Who is this new Lady Gaga we're seeing a lot more of? She went completely classic chic with a toned-down, one-shoulder, black Brandon Maxwell gown and a swept back blonde bob. It's a far cry from telephone hats and meat dresses, that's for sure. Some actors are so psychically gifted and ooze such confidence that they make outfits that shouldn't work in theory become red carpet magic. Take Kerry Washington in a sparkly sequinned all-silver Marc Jacobs dress with a thigh slit and '80s shoulders. She's proof that human perfection exists, but we're still not sure she managed to quite pull off this look. Sofia Vergara put her curves to work with a slick, silver strapless gown (we want to know how this woman manages to look so damn siren-y all the time). And then there's Kathryn Hahn, who wore one of the most experimental dresses of the evening - an interesting, asymmetric construction with a voluminous peplum hem on one side. It's a shame that the fabrics looked stolen from grandma's furniture. READ MORE purple bridesmaid dresses -
An anticipated happy wedding of Prophet Albert Mensah alias Nana Kofi, Founder of the Jesus Foundation Prayer Ministry at Site 14, Community 1, Tema, rather went sour Wednesday morning when a 20-year-old woman with her three-week-old baby boy disrupted the ceremony. The marriage department of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) became the toast of attraction for most staff of the assembly, passersby and traders at the Tema Central Market when the woman, Ms Mabel Patamia, accompanied by her relations and sympathisers, demanded that the registrar halt the solemn ceremony between the prophet and one Joyce Anima Damptey. Ms Patamia did not even allow the couple to take the vows as she interrupted every pronouncement, prompting the Assistant Marriage Registrar to introduce her to the gathering. The main reason for her action, she told the marriage official, was that she was engaged to Prophet Nana Kofi and has a child with him and that both were preparing to marry sometime this year. The expected happy occasion turned sour as well-wishers and witnesses of the couple looked shocked. They began leaving the premises of the assembly with disappointment. Prophet Nana Kofi was said to have impregnated Ms Patamia when the mother sent her to the church for spiritual healing, as she was alleged to be suffering from spiritual attack. Isaac Ashai Odamtten, Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Tema, who overheard Mabel’s persistent screams, quickly intervened to hold a crunch meeting with both parties and the marriage department. PHOTO ivory bridesmaid dresses Mabel Patamia holding her baby and leaving the marriage office TMA together with some sympathisers and relatives Mabel Patamia holding her baby and leaving the marriage office TMA together with some sympathisers and relatives After close to 30 minutes, it was concluded that the assembly would withhold the marriage certificate of the couple till Ms Patamia was dully compensated. The pastor was also to sign an undertaking at the Social Welfare Department that he would cater for the child. Prophet Nana Kofi was later whisked away in a car together with his would-be wife amidst jeers and boos from the crowd. Cynthia Patamia, mother of the dejected lady, narrated to DAILY GUIDE that her daughter entered into a relationship with Prophet Nana Kofi when she sent her for prayers as she was suffering from ‘high fever.’ She became pregnant and Prophet Nana Kofi was made to perform the initial customary rites to the family. “However, after coming for the list, I never heard from him again until I heard that he had impregnated another member of the church. I confronted him and he told me that he impregnated the woman who she was getting married to,” she stated. Cynthia Patamia said to her surprise, she was in the house at Site 5, Community 1, Tema, when news got to her that Prophet Nana Kofi was getting marriage to another woman who was also pregnant for him. According to her, “I quickly called my daughter, some friends and relatives and we went to the assembly to stop them from getting marriage since he cannot take my daughter and me for a ride.” Mabel Patamia told DAILY GUIDE that although she was demanding that the marriage should be halted, she had no problem with Prophet Nana Kofi getting married; but was only concerned with the clandestine way he was going about it. Meanwhile, the marriage department of the assembly is said to be in a fix and could face possible legal action if it failed to issue the marriage certificate to them. This is because the couple were said to have gone through all the processes as their names were pasted on the marriage notice board for the expected 21 days and even had additional five days which elapsed before they were booked to come for the solemnisation. "We are very happy to support the ISPCC. It is an event that is very close to my heart and all our hearts," Brown Thomas Fashion Director Shelly Corkery told me. "We see those dreadful images of children suffering. The stories can be shocking. The work of the ISPCC is so important to children's lives." Tickets for the ISPCC Brown Thomas Fashion Show are generally sold out soon after they are released in the spring. It's a hugely glamorous affair, near-sorority like in that the crowd (mainly women) nearly all know each other from attending year on year. Thus, since its beginnings, it has become friendlier. "It is one of the biggest launches we do and there is a huge amount of work that goes into it beforehand," Shelly explains. "There aren't that many events left for people to go to anymore, so people look forward to it as an occasion to dress up and see friends they might not have seen in a long time. It is a good fun event." The fun, as well as the good cause, attracts people who generally avoid the limelight. Danielle Ryan, for instance, has attended several times. This year, she sponsored the 'goodie bag' of perfume and novels (mine was The Scarlet Letter, which had me very confused for a time), from her new online store, Roads, also in Brown Thomas. Stars of the screen such as Saoirse Ronan, Louis Walsh, and Amy Huberman were in attendance and they, along with MC for the occasion, Laura Whitmore (dressed in Peter Pilotto), contributed to the glam and feel-good buzz of the event. For me, as well as for all the fashion mavens who attended, the event is a tremendous style-watch occasion, as most of the attendees are committed Brown Thomas international designer room shoppers and are hot to snatch up the latest deliveries of Lanvin, Valentino and Dior. One young woman looked fresh and pretty in a Victoria Beckham summer dress, while another woman was sporting the latest winter look. Such is the style diversity on the day. PHOTO kissybridesmaid country bridesmaid dresses "I think everyone makes a very big effort," Shelly says. "We saw lots of Preen and Dolce & Gabbana and Prada. I thought there were a lot of lovely dresses. It was quite mixed, from summer to winter, too, with people choosing to wear what they loved. We have had a tremendous season already in Brown Thomas. You really feel something is going well in Ireland again." I ask Shelly if are there particular indicators that show things are picking up. "Occasion wear is the indicator for us," Shelly instantly replies. "It has been an incredibly strong season for occasion wear for the first time in a long time. Oscar de la Renta literally sold out in two days. People are buying as soon as the collections drop. Definitely, people are looking for difference - special pieces, investment pieces. They want something different, something new. And they really want colour." A desire for colour in fashion is a trend we have not seen since before 2008. A love of colour, be it in fashion or interior decoration, is always a sign of economic and social optimism. Think of the 1960s, or the 1920s. Brown Thomas's catwalk show was a perfect summation of this season's key trends. Winter white and cream looked sophisticated, modern and beautiful, especially when done by Peter Pilotto, Victoria Beckham and Valentino, which was a big hit with this fashion design-discerning crowd. I adored Preen's eclectic collection; it was sensual and evocative, while still being sophisticated. The audience loved Stella McCartney's sharply cut, bustier-styled, dresses and suiting, Dries Van Noten's new bohemian rhapsody and Balenciaga's modernist dresses. "This season, there is a really big focus on tailoring and couture-like detail and finish," Shelly explains. "The couture side of fashion is something very new. It means structure, it means quality. Garments may be corseted, more structured, more complex. "We also saw a lot of change today," Shelly elaborates. "Erdem has moved its silhouette away from the body and into more trapeze shape dresses and coats. Victoria Beckham has gone from being occasion wear, to more casual and wearable with all her knitwear pieces. Stella was more feminine in her dresses and jumpsuit styles. "Trends-wise - knitwear is huge, especially ribbed knit pieces such as in Celine. Winter white is a big trend - think of Peter Pilotto's white dress, which was so futuristic. One- shoulder and backless looks are also key. The cocoon coat, the Crombie coat. "The big sleeve is an important new detail. Roksanda is the queen of the event dress and Dior for beautiful coats. It is a strong fashion season, with something for everyone." Which is good news for consumers. As is the ISPCC Brown Thomas fashion show for children. Finding the perfect gift to give to your bridesmaids can often be a difficult task. After all, how do you say thank you to your best girls for being a part of one of the most important days of your life? In my experience, I've found that the most appreciated gifts are often those that are unique and personalized. Perhaps something special with her name -- a bracelet, glassware or a frame with a favorite photo the two of your share. A beautiful robe is great for Wedding prep photos or maybe a wristlet she can use for the day's festivities. There are plenty of options to choose from but don't forget to add a special note. No matter what the occasion, heartfelt words will always win the day. So no matter what gift you decide on, add a handwritten note to let your bridesmaid know just how much you care and appreciate her presence! Has anyone looked into or actually ordered dresses from Azazie? They are a California company, with product produced in China. You can order standard sizing or custom sizing at no extra cost. The web site is great and easy to navigate. Swatches available for order. Turnaround is quick. Prices are reasonable. Coolest thing is that you can order sample dresses to try on for the cost of shipping (total $10 per dress). Sadly that perk is only available in the US, not Canada. They also will credit you some $ if your custom sized dress needs alterations! They have some wedding dresses, but tons of BM dresses in up to about 60 colors in a variety of fabrics. Also mother of the bride and coordinating accessories, including ties & pocket squares for the guys. I've found some reviews and they are mostly very positive, but wondering if anyone here has any direct experience with them. Seems they are a newer company, maybe around for about a year? Shipping to Canada is definitely more expensive (of course), but a little worried about taxes & duties. Someone posted on the Azazie web site that it cost them $268 in taxes and duties?!? Which I believe was more than the cost of the dress. Anyhow, I really like the looks of their product and they seem to have the color I want (will order swatches to be sure). Very interested in trying them out!

BRIDESMAID DRESSES: Ordered 6 months advance. My girls are quite short so will need to be shortened. I wanted to find dresses with a slit in the front like my wedding dress has. I originally picked eggplant for the dress color. I switched last minute to midnight blue which is basically Navy. SHOES: Needed wedges as the ceremony is on the beach. Found these on justfab.com. $75 for 3 pairs. I know they are gold, but I'm hoping they won't make a difference. Necklace/Earings/Bracelet: THE BAY! $90 for all three sets. Love!! ROBES: La Vie En Rose 3 for 1! SUN HATS: Walmart $9 - Navy $5 - White

Hello! i wanted to give a review to whoever wants to read one because i found these extremely helpful when I was planning my wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess. Sorry for typos/disorganization of thoughts because I'm typing super fast We had our wedding at the grand sunset princess on June 7th, 2014. My husband and i stayed there for 2 weeks, our guests stayed anywhere from 5 to 9 days. We booked with apple vacations through all inclusive vacations and resorts in denver, colorado. Most of our guests came from denver, although some came from different states, and even my grandma came from India! We had 45 guests total. When we all got to the resort we were pretty blown away. My husband and I were so excited right away. The grounds are so well taken care of and beautiful. The resort is massive and looks like a big palace. The lobby is open on all sides so you can see outside and feel the fresh humid air...It's awesome and so pretty. All of our rooms were fairly close depending on what room category each of our guests were in. Although the resort is huge, it was not hard to find people or get a hold of people for the most part. It was so fun to be able to walk along the walkway from the lobby to the beach and see people I know here and there from our wedding party. It was like being in a little town with all of your friends and family. All of our guests told me how amazing they thought the resort was. The staff was so nice and so attentive and helpful. The food was great and our fridges were stocked with water, beer, and soft drinks each day and our room was cleaned very well. All of the rooms were great. We saw the swim up, regular, and platinum rooms and they all were pretty spacious and nice and clean. The pools were so much fun, and so was the beach! We all loved it. I started planning my wedding last August 2013 and Guillermo was my wedding planner. He was/is AMAZING. I loved him. Let me just tell you first of all I was not very happy with him taking a week or even two sometimes to respond to my emails, but then again I did email him very often with different questions and requests. When I got to the resort he was standing there waiting for me to check in. He was so nice and welcoming. He took us to the wedding coordinator office and brought out a book or binder with everything I asked for and started asking last minute questions. After that I felt so good about everything! He knew my style exactly and I totally trusted him and felt less stressed right away. He was soooo good and I would highly, highly recommend him! The wedding day was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to say the least! We had our ceremony at the Sunset Gazebo and the reception was at the Chill Out Beach Club. I highly, highly, recommend this combination because the sunset gazebo is basically part of the chill out beach club. I know it seems pricy to have the private chill out club reception but it is SO WORTH IT! I can't stress that enough. The ceremony was beautiful and it was set up exactly how I wanted it. Now for the reception, it was private in the chill out beach club restaurant. The dinner was amazing, we chose the caribbean buffet. the drinks were amazing. the staff was so, so attentive and filled our drinks as soon as they were empty. everything went so smoothly and i was so pleased. The tables were decorated beautifully. I used our bridesmaids bouquets for centerpieces and they were placed in a cylinder vase with sand at the bottom and floating candles around. We also used the flowers from the ceremony as centerpieces for the head table. For 45 people, we had our head table with me and my husband, our bridal party, and then 5 round tables in front of us. Guillermo was so great, he added little candles and floating flowers in vases with water for centerpieces without telling me and I loved them! He knew exactly what I wanted. It was so pretty outside at the chill out beach club and having a private dinner with all your guests in that outdoor restaurant on the beach during sunset is truly amazing. After dinner, we cut the cake and had dessert and then went to the dance floor- we opted for the light up dance floor in the sand on the beach. The DJ played great music and my husband and I and our guests danced ALL night (even Guillermo came and danced with us )! We also opted for an extra hour, so we did 6pm-11pm and it was really worth it too. The staff brought us out drinks like crazy. They would bring out trays of tequila shots and our friends and family like to have a good time so....we drank a lot of tequila! It was so much fun! As for hair and make-up, I chose The Styling Trio. i researched this forever because I am so picky about my hair and make up. My hair gets really frizzy and poofy in humidity and I don't like to wear a lot of make up in humidity either. They did an AMAZING job. Adrian did my makeup and Angie did my hair. I will attach a link to our photos below. I saw in the forums that people feel like the styling trio is a little expensive, but believe me, just like about the chill out party-the styling trio is soooo worth it!! I chose Dean Sanderson as the photographer. You have to pay an extra $200 to the resort for an external photographer. I am so glad I chose him! he was so, so good. I also researched this forever....because i knew i would look at my wedding photos forever and be showing them to all of our friends back home that could not make it. So many people commented on how great the photos were. He does a great job of capturing the details and the moment. I love every single photo he took! He got photos of things I didn't even realize...loved it!!!! I highly recommend him. Super easy to work with and you barely knew he was there. I don't think I've ever looked so good in a picture in my life! Haha As you can see...i was so incredibly pleased with our wedding, the resort, and the vendors we used. They were all SO amazing! I am very picky about things and every single thing was exactly how i imagined it, or even better. Here is a link to our facebook album of our wedding. Even if you don't have FB, you should be able to view it. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10202993341609483.1073741825.1082610060&type=1&l=27b713ac30 Feel free to ask me any questions! I am happy to answer anything! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10202993341609483.1073741825.1082610060&type=1&l=27b713ac30

Wedding Finds: The Bridesmaid Convertible Dress
MarieSamSanchezPhoto posted a article in Style & Fashion
Bridesmaid style isn't what it used to be. Gone are the days of awful bridesmaids dresses that go straight to the thrift shop donation bin once the wedding is over. Dresses these days are fashionable, practical and beautiful. I for one, wanted to make sure my girls had something to wear that was pretty, practical and affordable. But I also wanted to make sure they each had something they could use in the future, beyond my wedding day. A quite popular trend these days is dressing your bridesmaids in different styles to suit their body shape and frame, according to what looks best on each individual. Because let's face it, not every style looks good on everyone. I think the convertible dress is also a great option for the Bride to wear to her rehearsal dinner or even as a reception dress for those late-night partying hours! The convertible dress is absolutely one of my favorite bridesmaid dress styles and fortunately, these days, there are tons of options -- from affordable to pricey -- to choose from. Two Birds was one of the pioneers when it came to the convertible dress, but Etsy also has an awesome selection of convertible styles. Just make sure whatever line/designer you decide to go with to check on production/turnaround times and for a thorough understanding of the different ways the dress can be styled! Wedding Finds is a BDW feature that will highlight special little finds or ideas that may help you along during your wedding planning journey. If you have a special wedding find to share, feel free to add your suggestions in the comments section! - - - About me: I am a former BDW Bride AKA as MarieSam and was addicted to this forum as I planned my own wedding in 2009. Since 2010, I have been the proud owner of MarieSam Sanchez Photography -- a husband and wife photography team based in Southern California and documenting love all over the world.-

HELP!i think i picked the wrong maid of honor my best friend of 12 years was less than excited when i told her i got engaged.. in fact he didnt want to talk to me about it untill two weeks after. fast forward to my engagement party.. where she forgot to bring her dessert she said she would bring, showed up two hours late, and stayed for all of MAYBE an hour. When i asked her why she left so early she said she was tire it was hot and a long list of excuses.. on the flip side, my very close friend and soon to be sister in law (whom ive known for about 6 years) is more than estatic about the wedding and has been so involved in everything. in fact, she threw the engagement party for us. i tried telling my best friend that i think it would be better if she were just a breidmaid and she refused and said only my actual sister should do it (not my sister in law). the conversation never really finished..just got more awkward.. keep in mind my sister also thinks my sister in law she be the MOH becasue shes older than my little sis (whos only 19) and is married and knows how these things work. now i have a dress fitting where they will all be and i want to make sure that my sister in law is the new maid of honor. she already knows whats going on with all this and has basically accepted.. how do i tell my first maid of honor that i just want her to be a bridesmaid?! HELP PLEASE

Hi Ladies! This is my first post. I just wanted to share how I will be asking my bridesmaids, since I am pleased with how it turned out! I wanted to give them something special for the money they will be spending to attend. Most of their husbands/bfs are groomsmen too, and my fiance isn't doing anything special to ask them. I ended up assembling a box containing a funny luggage tag that says "be my senorita?", a 2 year pocket calendar with the dates marked along with special dates in their lives - birthdays, anniversaries, upcoming weddings etc. and phone numbers of the travel agent and the bridal party in a little note section the calendar has, a mini bottle of champagne and a starfish! It cost me about $20 per bridesmaid. For the calendar I used a template on Microsoft Publisher but i followed the directions from this website: http://diyfrugalbride.blogspot.com/2013/10/how-to-make-your-bridesmaids-planner_24.html I will attach my template as well. Supplies Blank Calendar -- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D3XH716/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ($35) Funny luggage tags -- http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=anne%20taintor%20luggage ($63) Mini Champagne ($20) Pack of 6 starfish - ($9.99 @ Michael's - I used a 40% off = $6.00 total) I can email pictures if anyone needs, since I know I can never open attachments. final calendar.pub
