Are you selling your dress after the wedding? If you already did - did you regret it?

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies,  I'm thinking about selling my dress.  Someone has inquired about it and I'm wondering if I will regret it after?  If I have a little girl oneday, will I wish I had it to show her?  On the other hand, had I done Trash The Dress in Punta Cana - I wouldn't have the dres anyways.  Or, is selling it the best thing to do - will it just take up space and never be touch again?  I'm interested in your thoughts and experiences.  xoxo

I think that this is a loaded question for some rolleyes.gif

However; I do plan on selling my dress after the wedding and TTD. I highly doubt that I will regret it afterward as I will have a ton of pictures from our wedding, videos and the like.  In addition, I will have my sash turned into jewelry by the famous Chelsea, of Red-i by Chelsea.  This alone will allow me to always have a tangible piece of our wedding (besides the hubby ;-). My saying "YES" to the dress was an amazing experience because I also met my designer Lazaro.  In addition, he sketched me in my dress & signed it which I will have framed and hung in our house.  Lastly, I have a male child so I definitely won't be passing this down to him smile120.gif but even though I will gain a daughter from our union who is currently 19, style change so very much that it is she wouldn't want it.  Besides, I would want her to have that very special moment when she finds her own just as I did.  So with all that said, I plan to sell, sell, sell

I had the idea to make mine into maybe a couple of throw pillows, or even back it and have a throw blanket for the end of the bed. cheesy...I'm sure. We just ordered it...and I have about a year until the wedding - so maybe I'll feel differently about it a year from now. Right now, I want to keep it.

Another idea that I've already talked to many brides about and will be showcasing later on is having custom jewelry made out of components of your dress. If you do a TTD session, it can still be done since most dresses are easily salvaged after sand and water if properly dried out! With many dresses having crystals, pearls, applique, etc. plus the material itself, the possibilities are endless! It's another keepsake that can be worn either for special occasions or to spruce up a t-shirt & jeans. I'll be getting my dress I purchased for my TTD session hemmed in the next few days and plan on using the leftover fabric to do just this.
