Kelly K
I am looking to get married at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso in August 2012 with guests staying at the Grand, Maya and Lindo. I am hoping to get others who are getting married or have gotten married here to post information. I just stayed at Maya for a week in August and toured Maya, Tucan and Grand. We will have kids there and although Grand is "adults only" they will let us get married on the beach with a reception at the buffet restaurant overlooking the beach if booked for private party with kids attending. CriCri
I think I will choose Grand Paraisio but I'm a little bit in dubt. Why have you choosen Iberostar and not Secrets Maroma? Have you obtain a good price for your guests? Do you think Grand Paraisio will be a good option also for a wedding with only 8-10 people? Please help me... I would like get married in April-May 2012 Thanks
Kelly K
We didn't look at Secrets. The reason we picked Iberostar Grand Paraiso was because this was a way we could please the most guests. My family is big and they wanted to bring kids and his family is all adults and like to play golf. We like that there are five Iberostar hotels next to each other in different price ranges with The Grand being the most upscale and adults only and the Maya and Lindo sharing large pools, a wave pool and lazy river and being family friendly. There is also a Pete Dye golf course adjacent to and affiliated with the hotel. The Grand has access to the other 4 hotels. Our travel agent is booking our guests through Apple vacations and got a lowest price guaranty which means if the price drops after we book, we will get the lower rate. Apple will also price match if you find better rates on funjet, cheapcarribean or other websites. I thought Iberostar Grand was a beautiful hotel. It reminds me of a Las Vegas hotel. And we liked the fact that we could get married on the beach and if we had a private reception, we could include kids. Good luck and let me know what you decide. Kelly K
Oops...sorry...I forgot to tell you....we did our reservations through Apple then gave Iberostar our confirmation # from Apple and set a wedding date. You can contact Idalia, the wedding and event sales executive at the grand, to get more information on the wedding details and book a date. janeandbrian
We are getting married at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya at the end of June of this year. I am now working with Lily, and find her to be very easy to work with. We thought about the Grand, but family friends have children under age18. The only thing that I have not been happy with is the penalty for using an outside photographer. I have chosen Luckie Photography and will be out $500 for using outside photographer. Other than that I am thrilled with the response time with e-mails. I am curious to know if any of you are having private party with sit down dinner. If so, what menu choices are you considering?? Happy wedding planning to all of you Iberostar brides!!!!!!!! I think we made a wonderful choice
