Hi ladies,

I am having my ceremony on the beach and was very lost as to what to do with shoes... not so much for me, but more for my bridesmaids. They have a knee length dress and obviously heels look better, but on the beach they would need sandals. I didn't want them to have to buy two pairs of shoes, so I decided to go with barefoot sandals for all of us. I decided to make them myself and thought I'd share. They are really easy to make, but time-consuming (about 1 hour for one pair). All you need is beads of your choice (from any bead store - many in Toronto!) and Stretchy Jewelry Cord (best is 0.5mm thickness) which would also be found at the bead store. If anyone wants instructions, I can come up with them I'm sure.

Please don't pay attention to my poorly done toenails, lol.... the clear ones are for my bridesmaids (that way they can wear them again and again with any colour bathing suit) and the purple ones are mine (which no one will see anyway under my dress, lol).

ugh those pics are terrible.  I will hopefully get some better pics of these up close at the wedding.  Or figure out how to use my own camera properly!! lol

Thanks to Chelsea who was my original inspiration!  They did take a long time to make myself, but the BM's I made using the same pattern, so the 2nd and 3rd pairs took a lot less time!  And shopping around for the beads I wanted was super fun!!

For those of you in the GTA, I found a good selection at a little bead shop at warden and eglinton. Tucked in beside the Dollarama!  I also got some of my supplies from dollarama, the stretchy cord and the seed beads (tiny ones).

truly impressive that you did these on your own. i was considering doing them myself as well, so you just inspired me to try something new. hope mine turn out as good as yours.  they are truly beautiful. i like the idea that you did the ones for your girls in white so they can use them over and over again. :)
