welcome!!!

i booked the wedding day then reserved the trip.

pick your date with your fiance..and see if your resort is available...iberostar properties only hold one wedding per day..so if you're going with an iberostar property that will need to be taken into consideration..most othe resorts will hold multiple weddings on any given day.

happy planning!!!

Welcome! Yes, we reserved our wedding day first, then booked the travel..

We were very flexible on dates - didn't have any particular 'special' date we wanted, so in our case I researched a lot and picked a resort first. Then once we had that decided, I contacted the wedding coordinator to get a list of all the availble dates they had within a 3-4 week period that we were looking to travel.

Once we had the resort and wedding date secured, then we booked the travel portion. I figured I didn't want to get all the travel set only to find they had no days available!

Welcome & Congrats!!

I agree, I would suggest you pick a date first then book travelrooms. I knew the resort I wanted & was flexible with a date. I had chosen 2 dates prior to my wedding date but they were not available at the resort. It would have been a pain to keep contacting the TA about changing the date twice. However, my resort only reserved the date if you are booked so I had to book asap to keep my date free at the resort.

Good Luck!

I picked my resort 1st because we didn't have any special day in mind and where we had our wedding was more importatn to us. We have booked the wedding at the resort and now working on booking our travel and our guests travel. If you have a special day in mind though you should work around that.

Good Luck!

We picked two weekends as options first, then looked for resorts.  We narrowed down to a handful of resorts and picked one of the resorts that had a day available that we wanted. We wanted to pick a weekend that worked for a lot of our close family members so that to us was first priority over the resort.

We reserved our wedding day, about a year in advance, and at that time we didn't know the travel schedule.  Once the travel schedule and pricing came out we were able to book our travel.  That being said, we did have to change our wedding day because the flight schedule changed.

Like some of the ladies already shared... I chose the resort first, then picked from available dates (they happened to have my first choice of date available, but I was flexible), then booked travel.

Regardless if you choose the resort first or the date first, I think it's less of a hassle to book the travel last.
