Any Spring 2012 Brides getting married in St. Thomas?

My fiance and I are planning an Eastern Carribean cruise for Spring 2012 (Most likely departing Mar 24th) and plan to get married on the beach in St. Thomas.  Any other brides with the same idea?  I initially looked at getting married through the cruise line (Carnival) but the costs are insane!  I started looking at companies on St Thomas, and came upon Island Bliss that I think I will end up going with.

We are also getting married in St. Thomas in April of 2012.  We will be on the Ruby Princess for a 7 day cruise.  We also chose to go with Island Bliss and Janelle has been more then wonderful. The prices that the cruise ship want to charge you for the same services are ridiculous and all the reviews I read about Island Bliss were great and I have not been disappointed yet.  Did you have any ideas about which beach you wanted to get married on???

How exciting!!  We are still deciding on which beach we want to get married on, as well as the photographer!  I think we are definitely not going to choose Magens because of how busy they get.  I need to look more at photos from all the places.  Do you know which beach yet?  How about which photographer?

We decided on Lindquist Beach because we wanted the bluest water and somewhere where no one else would be!  The only downside is that there are no facilities there, just a porta pottie :)  But that is ok with me b/c we will not be there for more then a hour or so, then we will go back into town to have lunch.  I also really liked Magen's but didn't want to be where there were going to be a ton of people.  We chose Elisha Orin as our photography, a little pricey but I love her photos on her website and she came highly recommended.

We are prob going to get married at the Marriott -Frenchman's reef, they are doing renovations and should be done Sept 30th. I wont book it until I see pictures :) We are planning our wedding for Dec. 2012 while in port. If not I would like to use oceana or lime tree beach. I am planning on bringing our photographer with us on the cruise. But I also want to have a videographer and plan on using highdef.

We are doing the exact same thing! We are cruising Eastern Carribean March 24-31st and getting married while in port in St. Thomas on March 27, 2012. We also chose not to go with the cruise ship because of how much more it was going to cost through them. I was going back and forth between Janelle with Island bliss and Leslie with perfect weddings. I ended up booking Leslie and getting married on limetree beach. I REALLY wanted Magens bay but she said that Tuesdays were the worst because of all the cruise ships being at port that day and I didn't want to deal with the crowds.

My fiance and I are getting married in St Thomas march 1, 2012 via the Princess Ruby :-) I have been looking into coordinators on the island to plan the wedding...so glad i came across this thread!  I love limetree beach - the pics look AMAZING!!!  Emerald beach also looks beautiful.  I have been to Magens Bay and it is pretty, but it really is busy and limetree and emerald is really close to the shipping docks - so that's nice.  Are any of you having a reception on the island?  Nolacruiser6, are you going anywhere specific for lunch?  if you know of a great place, please share!  I wanted to do a toast and light snacks on the beach following the ceremony - that way everyone can still see the island and we will should be done in under 2 hours. We are going to have a Grooms Dinner on the ship the evening prior to the wedding day - so that's gonna be the more 'formal' get-together...I am excited to have a nice and relaxing wedding day!  and take my groom back to our room and have a romantic dinner served on our balcony - they can set all that up!  So happy you found a coordinator that you are happy with...I have tried talking to 2 different ones but i dont feel confident in them.  I may have to look into island bliss and perfect weddings...if they have a referral discount - i will mention you! i looked at the Elisha Orin web site and wow!  i want an amazing photographer...so thank you for sharing what you have found!  Have any of you found any dresses?  I found my perfect dress in the destination collection for maggie sottero (rd1044) - she is fabulous!  perfect beach dresses...in case you are still looking!  Have any of you sent out save the dates?  i have designed a boarding pass one, but thought id ask what other ideas you may have...:-)

My fiance and I are getting married in St. Thomas on 3.1.12 via the Ruby Princess too!  I am so glad I found this thread because I have been so frustrated with finding a coordinator on the island...thank you for mentioning the two individuals above :-)  and also the photographer...her website looks amazing!!  Has anyone sent out save the dates yet?  I designed a boarding pass one, but wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas.  If anyone is looking for a dress...Maggie Sottero has a destination collection that is absolutely amazing!  I ordered mine (rd1044) and am so excited to get it...for a beach wedding her dresses are perfect!

We sent out save the date magnets and they worked out great, everyone commented on how much they loved them.  I would search around etsy if you have not already. There are some really great shops that do destination STD's and invitations.  I took a few different ideas from STD's that I liked and made our own through vistaprint, sooooo much cheaper!  I did the design on microsoft office publisher and just uploaded the image to vistaprint.  I ordered 30 5"x4" magnets in color with 30 color post cards (with envelopes) that had more of the travel details explaining cruise, website details/travel agent contact info etc. The 30 magnets, post cards, envelopes, 50 envelope seals (customized) and 100 address labels (customized) cost $44 (with shipping)!!! Can't beat that!
