Our DIY STD Postcards + Magnets with photos, FREE from Vistaprint!!

Recommended Posts

We are sending our guests a Save The Date postcard with detailed wedding information on the back, along with a reminder STD magnet they can keep on their fridge, all courtesy of Vistaprint for free!

The idea for the 3 pictures to display the date was gotten from another bride on this website (jmb0902/joann – thank you so much for the fab idea!) This forum is awesome and I would be lost without it. After a snow storm we just took our camera and tripod to a local park and bought an empty large photo frame with us and afterwards added in the dates.

This is the Magnet :

We then enclosed a postcard, this is the front :

And this is the back of the postcard :

We purchased pink metalic A2 envelopes from www.paperandmore.com ($11.99 for 50).

We also ordered return address labels from www.vistaprint.com (140 for free) that matched the STDâ€s.

Completed STDâ€s :

Not bad for having to pay just for envelopes and involving very little time and effort!

Attached is the template we used for the magnet.

Yes, I registered with Vistaprint and I get emails almost every day, so I just wait for the best ones and place multiple orders at the same time. To create the STD's I got 100 free postcards, 10 free large magnets per order (got 70 total), free uploads (if you upload your own images you have to pay, I think it's usually $4.99 per image), and 140 return address labels all for free.

I've ordered a ton of other stuff from them too besides the STD's, including totes to use as OOT bags, T-shirts, pens, notebooks, sticky pads, welcome cards, etc ...........

Hi Steph, yes I edited the pictures before uploading to Vistaprint. Did this using Picnik (www.picnik.com) ..... Love love love that site! So you can make any photo B&W and then just zoom in and change certain pieces back to color. This is just one of many photo editing tricks you can do on Picnik. I signed up for a yearly account, think it was $25, but you can sign up for just a month, or you can get a basic account for free. Not sure if you get this feature with the free basic account though. Good luck!
