Cheap centerpiece ideas, that travel well?

Recommended Posts

I am not the artsy/craftsy type AT ALL and I see so many of you are DIY queens which is so cool :)

I am looking for ideas on what to have for my reception centerpieces! I want something fairly inexpensive, since I will probably not use them again anyway.

I am not big on flowers, so some floral alternative would be nice

Ideas!?

We are are more likely using Glass Hurricane vases, Local Sand, and white candles in the vases on top of the sand , then a few tea lights around the centerpiece. Very simple, yet beautiful. The hardest part is getting the Vases to your location. Each of my bridesmaids, myself, & 7 other family members are packing one vase in our carry-ons :. Also chat with you wedding planner at your site. You might be able to rent so you dont have to travel with them, then all you need to have are candles and sand if you need it.

Hi Diva!

I made photo "lantern" centerpieces (I can email you pics if you'd like). I thought it would be a nice way to not only have people "there" that couldn't be (or wouldn't be) and also give people something to go around and talk about...plus the lighting would be pretty and romantic.

Maybe you can put the menu on one of the sides of the "lanterns" and photos on the other?

I was also going suggest paper laterns, but the round ones.

We are using these on the guestbook table and the escort card tables. I bought 8 inch ones, really pretty ribbon to tie on top and decorated with jewel type stickers. (they look like little dianmonds).

I really like the latterns with the menus too!
